A writer being behind on a deadline is the basic state of nature. If you were to post "wrote 4,700 words today, which is good, for something that is due two weeks from now" we would all be panicking.

Just 3 days ago, the story broke showing Flock employees viewing camera feeds in a private community center, including but not limited to the children's gymnastics room and daycare areas.

I genuinely thought you were going to say that your version comes with a demo track.

Sure, but are they noise generated, or are you doing it computationally based on the "weather" model you're building?

Have you received any written notice from them and are you willing to share what they said publicly?

I think we can safely say that DDLC is not worse than a large number of movies that are available on the Play store.

This point reveals much of the problem of technology generally. Importantly, AI companies are intending to solve alignment through automatic enforcement. Centralized technology leads to authoritarian governance, because technology embodies ideology.

Genuinely makes me want to lay in a bed of warm clay.

AI companies really think they can solve the alignment problem when we still haven't aligned the technology of like, knives

Photo of a sketch on a table with a technical pen below it. The sketch depicts a minimalist landscape with rocks and bamboos and a body of water. On one rock stands a little samurai and somewhere hides a cat.

One of my favorite stories my dad used to tell is about how when he was young, he was out with his friends looking at the night sky and said "man this is awful, there's hardly any stars anymore" and his friend replied "what are you talking about?" That was how he learned he needed glasses.

Yeah, I realized later it was the "story-pilled" and "weird ones" you were taking issue with. I agree, when art is good, it's good. What makes it good enough to enjoy is complicated. Sadly in just about any discourse there will be people who elevate their preference by demeaning others.

But yeah I've never been called "story-pilled". What even is that

I have definitely seen people (and been willing to) overlook glaring gameplay problems because of a good story; but I dropped the Assassin's Creed franchise after AC3 because I felt betrayed by the story I was invested in.

It's been about a month since I touched the game. With projects that huge, sometimes you really need some time off 😅

Anyway, I've finished propagating simulated water chunk updates to higher LODs, meaning the basic water system is more or less finished!
