My mind leapt immediately to the Simpsons.

I drove past about half an hour ago, and came to the same conclusion!

a man in a suit and tie is looking at the camera with a sad look on his face Alt: David Tennant as Doctor Who, standing in the rain, looking despondent.

That’s…not how time works.

AAAAAHHHH!!!!! There’s some Asylum Street Spankers in there! And Liz Phair! And Mekons! Sadly not the one and only show I saw in Chicago, though (The Drovers at Cabaret Metro, with Big Hat opening).

I go in waves with it. Community-wise, it feels more like the old listservs, or Usenet, but some servers move way too quickly!

About 2 1/2-3 inches tall. He was a lawyer, and courthouse security knew to expect it when he went through the metal detectors.

No one said that religious orders were no strings attached. 🤷‍♂️

Oooh!!! Good call! My dad used to carry a pewter pepper grinder in his suit jacket pocket, just in case.

I learned this from you years ago, on the old site, and it’s come in handy so many times since!

I truly believe your dad and mine were cut from similar cloth.

I’m excited to taste today’s harvest! One of the perks of working at a Shul.

Much better than my mom, who left things like the Linda Lovelace biography on top of the toilet tank, while making it clear that I wasn’t to read My Uncle Oswald.

What are the chances that there are 17,000 qualified drivers willing to cross a Teamsters picket line? That should be enough incentive for First Student to settle.

This is like the Chelm story, where they remove the letters from the dreidel one by one. “We don’t need the shin. We know the miracle happened there, because nothing miraculous ever happens in Chelm.”

It can also get really frustrating. It’s always the same kids who come to report the tiniest social problems before they’ve made any attempts to solve them. Of course Zebulon won’t give you the rolling pin. You just gave it to him thirty seconds ago! Did you ask for a turn when he’s done???

This is a huge part of what we do in pre-k. 90% of the problems kids have with their backpacks: zipping, loading, unloading, etc. can be solved by taking the backpack off the hook. I keep finding creative ways to get them to do that and try again, and some of them are starting to catch on.
