You’re not “retiring,” you’re quitting and that’s PERFECTLY FINE. Quitting jobs that don’t serve us is good. But please respect the veteran hookers who have been hustling against their will with no other viable options for longer than it took you to get your silly little degrees.

Having been in the industry a long time and only recently getting a chance to take a honest break for the first time in 11 years, I’m just like… stfu if you started this job with a full time job history + a degree and only did it for a year or two or even three.

Like when i quit retail after 18 months working it, I didn’t “retire” i just quit. The job wasn’t for me. I didn’t “retire” from being a barista after doing it for 4 or 5 years. I simply stopped serving coffee. No need to get sentimental over a job I briefly partook in performing.
