You can ask anyone in the Civil Service when the rot set in... I seem to remember a tweet on the official feed "Can you imagine working for these truth twisters" - too many consultants not enough management. Costs spiralled and training got forgotten, no longer a professional service.

I quote her sketches constantly, it keeps me saneish in this world. Also the joy of picking up a tray and saying "I think you'll find there's Spam on that".

Lovely, but being of a certain age the only six wheel vehicle I've ever wanted was owned by The Banana Splits.

Or as an American tourist in Stratford on Avon once said "Look honey, they even have half timbered cars".

UK privatised it's rail system 20 odd years ago - if England get through... these will look "reasonable" to their fans. The fare from City Thameslink in London to Blackfriars station is £4.10 ($7.58 Canadian)- it's 750 yards from station to station. The "no pedestrian access" is shameful.

France put renewables around existing nuclear plants where the grid connections already exist. They're also using "industrial scale" recycling of old EV batteries to provide gigawatt storage to buffer the grid. Amazing what happens when profit isn't the only motive.

Putting solar and wind around existing dirty (and this means you Drax) plants where the grid connections already exist might be a good idea.

Whisper it but having a campervan for the past 23 years means I have never had a car with a sat nav, let alone central screen.

Spinach and Ricotta canneloni (chopped rosemary and garlic plus lots of Nutmeg in the filling) as it's no meat Friday. We enjoy it throughout the yea, not just in Lent when we go meat free.

Hope Karoline is fast enough for the US Olympic team, that God sent thunderbolt strikes quickly. The number of commandments broken by the Administration is totting up.

Sadly, a Londoner usually is drawn to Gordons or Beefeater for the "Juniperiness". Of course Strawberries in summer and Damsons/Sloes in autumn in a bottle with a little sugar - leave for 5-6 days (or longer) and the juniper is moderated.

I really don't understand the SUV, a traffic cop friend talks about their desire to roll in accidents and even violent changes of direction to avoid accidents in front of them.

I stopped reading New Scientist about 25 years ago when it became apparent the Earth was doomed. Despite the moves to "sustainable" the laws of thermodynamics mean we have limited time left.

The day Senna died, my love of F1 withered. The sight of Mansells' grenade engine spinning wheels in 3rd uphill in Monaco lives with me. Prosts approach to braking and throttling out of a corner rules enthusiasic driving in my camper.
