A new report and survey of trans people reports that 99% of them have had their mental health negatively affected by the barrage of anti trans stories in the UK media. 64% avoided medical care due to discrimination. This is a crisis.

The mood in Gorton and Denton is clear - Labour have blown it.
Only the Greens can stop Reform.
Republicans are still trying to pass the SAVE Actâa bill that would make it harder to vote and disenfranchise millions of Americans. Join @redistrictingaction.org and tell your member of Congress to vote no: act.redistrictingaction.org/a/natl-saveact-cte
If anyone wants to complain about the antisemitic caricature of Zack Polanski that Mail published, their complaints email is a bit tricky to find đ, but itâs here (donât bother with IPSO, they told me only the individual or representative groups can complain) www.readerseditor.dmgmedia.co.uk/contact

"Since @zackpolanski.bsky.social took over as leader, the party has doubled its membership and its four MPs want to take on Reformâs anger and build community spirit"

âThe idea that squeezing a tiny elite of billionaires will pay for everything is fantasy and we do need to expose that.â
Good job no oneâs ever actually said that - including me.
So why is Labour again repeatedly lying to avoid taxing the super-rich?

Graphic. Photo of Sian Berry (a smiling white woman) stands outdoors with greenery and purple flowers blurred in the background. At the top, white text reads âBradford District Green Party.â Overlaid near the bottom is a cropped Guardian newspaper headline that says: ââZack is a phenomenal leaderâ: Siân Berry on the Green partyâs next steps as membership doubles.â Along the bottom is a green banner with the website address âjoin.greenparty.org.ukâ and the Green Party logo.
đŁ @sianberry.bsky.social: âOur challenge, which Zack is making great strides with, is to make sure our values of hope and building up communities are shared just as often as Reformâs.â

There are case studies to be written on why Labour has become the fiefdom of several families, and how its structures keep elevating their progeny to prominence.
You have to ask whether Joe got where he is today through skill, talent, insight, keen intellect and study or by being Harriet Harmanâs son. Until that question is answered, doesnât really feel like I need to give too much credence to his opinions.
It's pretty easy to knock down a strawman argument you've just handily created for precisely that purpose.
If you think this disingenuous twaddle is going to ease the broad malaise people feel about the Labour government then you're in for a shock.
The next few years will see unprecedented unemployment, homelessness, and inequality in the West as AI makes billionaires even richer and the rest of us even poorer. I have no idea how you can offer "bold change" to counter that if you're terrified of offending those same billionaires.
The dauphin of Harriet Harman and Jack Dromey, about the same age as Zack Polanski, wants to make it clear that only the grim, grinding, managed decline of death march politics counts as serious.
Ooh, he's actually on hereâŚ
Joe, you make out in this oddly substance-free interview that @zackpolanski.bsky.social thinks that a wealth tax will pay for "everything"; obviously this is untrue.
As pressure from the Greens mounts, what will Labour's eventual wealth tax look like?
This line is some weird fantasy too...
âWe need to demonstrate competence, and thatâs most obviously around small boats,â [Dromey] says.
I'd like to see NHS competence. SEND competence. Equality competence. Green energy competence.
Private equity struggles to value assets, sells assets to itself to pay investors.
Sold ÂŁ79.2bn of assets to itself, to new entities under its control with money from new investors to pay earlier investors.
A ponzi scheme full of conflict of interests.
#GaryLineker was at Spurs when I first got really interested in football as a kid. He was my favourite player. Iâm not into footie as much anymore, but itâs nice to see and hear your old idols stand up and speak out. đľđ¸
I'm asking John - and indeed all journalists - as a new year resolution to stop comparisons with a national economy and a household budget.
How many years have to go by until we can have coherent conversations in the media about the economy?
t.co/jIObxTAoeL
My biggest bugbear. The economy is hot like a household budget. Repeat after me..
Honestly, one of the worst thing that ever happened to the publicâs understanding of economics was this idea that it bears any resemblance to domestic budgeting.
Thatchers tightfisted legacy.
Think again
We can do things differently.

This is a bugbear of mine too. Even if you accept a lot of the basic budgeting premises, youâd have to conclude that a country is more like a company than a household, and companies borrow all the time to invest, or to maintain skilled workforces through financial shocks.
100%
The folly of the household comparison is dangerous.
