There are case studies to be written on why Labour has become the fiefdom of several families, and how its structures keep elevating their progeny to prominence.

You have to ask whether Joe got where he is today through skill, talent, insight, keen intellect and study or by being Harriet Harman’s son. Until that question is answered, doesn’t really feel like I need to give too much credence to his opinions.

It's pretty easy to knock down a strawman argument you've just handily created for precisely that purpose.

The next few years will see unprecedented unemployment, homelessness, and inequality in the West as AI makes billionaires even richer and the rest of us even poorer. I have no idea how you can offer "bold change" to counter that if you're terrified of offending those same billionaires.

The dauphin of Harriet Harman and Jack Dromey, about the same age as Zack Polanski, wants to make it clear that only the grim, grinding, managed decline of death march politics counts as serious.

This is a bugbear of mine too. Even if you accept a lot of the basic budgeting premises, you’d have to conclude that a country is more like a company than a household, and companies borrow all the time to invest, or to maintain skilled workforces through financial shocks.
