Just over a week away, for anyone who has an interest in how we function, individually, in systems and as a nation.
Shame is a feeling we all know - just how much does it affect? everything?

This is such a salient point, Hannah. I meet this all this time and can find it disheartening. The village and all that it offers needs to be in place to build the nests before eggs are laid and wee chick's are born.
I think we gave the correct ingredients for a Tenderness Day Picnic!
To add to the most important ingredient - which is SUNSHINE βοΈ
Looking forward to welcoming some of our families for food and fun π¨π‘πΉπ₯€ππππππΎππͺπ
Excellent work, Thomas. Can Anam alba be added?
Beginning today believing that Tenderness is more important in the world than ever.
Unashamedly happy to do work that nurtures safety instead of fear.

This is such an important point. The foundation for learning has to be emotional security and the confidence to explore. We spend far too much time rote teaching them βstuffβ and not enough time giving them the support and encouragement for βlearning to learn.β
Fascinating study (2024) with 14-mo-old infants:
Quote: "Infants with resistant attachment patterns were hypervigilant to change in emotional expressions. Avoidant infants avoided novel expressions, thus showing less sensitivity to emotional change."
14 MONTHS!

If you havenβt read this one, please do so. Beautiful words from @fiona13larkin.bsky.social
βWe were lucky. We found enough acceptance, creativity, and compassion to cradle the sorrow tenderly and somehow in that grief we found unexpected moments of joy.β
"If intimacy of relation between infant & parent..."
A profound idea.
It changes the way science & culture think about human functioning. You begin to realise this capacity for intimacy is the seat of trauma -- and of shared joy.

"There is gravity in tenderness and there is playfulness in joy. We need both."
Perfect for #MothersDay
Wise words from @fiona13larkin.bsky.social & @bylines.scot .

Bullying, gaslighting, mocking, condescending even aggressive behaviour can all be missed when they are so easily and naturally adopted by those for whom this was of life is the norm.
We forget how dreadful it is. It is not normal
What would a trauma-informed analysis of the Trump-Zelenskyy meeting look like? I think it would pay attention to body language. It would consider what was happening biologically. Here's my THREAD tracking changes over the 50 mins.

In all seriousness- this even would not have been the same without 'play' It guided the energy, helped us attune to the need for movement after listening intently and consolidated the themes of the day - it was anything but frivolous
Yesterday with @danwuori.bsky.social was a terrific day -- full of fun & connection & profound insights.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet you face to face - our chat just wasn't long enough. We need a cuppa soon β€οΈ
I reckon that Cumbernauld and north lanarkshire have the best in some Sandras ππ€£
Good morning. Today is Soup Day!
That means the day where we do all the practical things that will ensure a warm welcome for @danwuori.bsky.social + those joining us tomorrow @shivieargyle.bsky.social @suzannezeedyk.bsky.social
We are just about sold out. Maybe we should call it A Lot of Soup Day βΊοΈ
Cosy time for those that have signed up for storytime.
