Javy had one goal, not ground into a double play so you have multiple men on for Carp.
First pitch, GIDP. Followed by Carp swinging right over a breaking ball in the zone.
Again, this team needs to hit for power or the offense is going to continue to struggle, too many holes.

Squander, squander, squander.
When you don’t hit for any power you need to string multiple good ABs together and the Tigers just can’t put the ball in play enough.
Yep, gotta respect it. I wish some of the Tigers hitters would do a better job of grinding out ABs.
Sigh yep, playing the Brewers and the Tigers didn’t help themselves at all in the top of the 2nd. Score some runs now and get back in it.
Bad play by McGonigle, followed by a walk and a ground ball single, almost like the Tigers don’t know who they are playing and weren’t prepared.
Yeah, when is Parker due back? At this point I think the Tigers are hurting themselves by leaving Clark in AAA and giving ABs to Perez.
I mean he walked two, you can’t come out of the bullpen and walk two. When you don’t strike guys out like Holton you can’t give up free passes, makes it too likely weak contact scores something.
Two guys in the lineup worse than him, three if you count Wenceel who is now in the lineup after not starting.
Lotta holes in the lineup right now, so hope Harris does something at the deadline. Wouldn’t need to trade the farm to upgrade something on the right side of the infield, or maybe a right handed hitting outfielder.
Sigh, and Gleyber just cost the Tigers their last challenge. You aren’t hitting well enough to use a challenge.
Can’t pull your starter in the 4th and expect your bullpen to pitch a complete shutout. Tigers need to score some more runs here.
Wow, get a third run, first and third no outs and three just awful at bats by the Tigers. Three straight guys and not a one of them can even make contact, brutal.
Sigh, Gleyber is just not good. He is just going to be in the 2 spot all year despite providing nothing but some walks and an occasional weak single isn’t he?
Man, embarrassing effort in game one by the Pistons. Pretty absurd they can’t win a home playoff game.
Woof, what an awful quarter from the Pistons. They are proving all the haters and doubters right so far as game 1 approaches the fourth, not a great look.
Ding dong, pitch gone.
Best catcher in baseball plays in Detroit folks.
I do not understand the logic behind the Tigers challenging or not challenging calls with ABS.
Tigers won and I think, man, Skubal did not have his best game today. Just six innings of one run ball, four hits, two walks and 10 Ks. Probably the two walks that make it feel worse than it was.
He is just the backup catcher, but how long can you carry a backup catcher who is such a zero on offense? Is he that good defensively? That good of a clubhouse guy?
Not sure what you can do with a lineup today with basically four guys, Gleyber, Tork, Wenceel, and Rogers who are basically giving you nothing at the plate aside from the occasional Gleyber or Tork walk.
Man, Tork is just not a good hitter, what a completely ineffectual AB with one out and the bases loaded.
Love the hard contact by Colt, but at some long he will start lifting it a bit more too right?
Man, lotta holes in the Tigers lineup these days. I’d say they should stop giving so many ABs to Gleyber but not sure they have any other real good options.
No idea how to feel about both one run losses being 1-0.
The lack of consistent power seems to be the biggest issue with their offense so far this season.
Not sure that game would have ever ended without it. I don’t think either team was scoring an earned run til tomorrow.
Well that game sucked. Fitting for it to end on a batted ball just pounded into the ground.
Two close plays at second in the 1st and the 9th for the Tigers costing them potential runs and AJ with an odd (bad) decision not to pinch hit in the 10th.
Oh well, start a new winning streak tomorrow.
What is AJ doing? Pinch hit for Vierling but leave Carp and Keith on the bench to let Perez and Tork bat vs a righty with the go ahead run on third?
Tough play, but Lee really didn’t make it, so much for his solid defensive debut.
Sigh, gave me hope vs Chapman, but Dingler got absolutely blown away.
That darn Javy steal, so close to being safe.
Probably doesn’t hurt his case, but they really don’t have any better internal options unless they go Keith full time at 1B.
I’d like to see them move on this offseason but Harris seems loathe to move on from anyone.
