They're throwing out phrases like carpetbagger, transplant, demplant, and references to only existing because of politics. Like thinking everyone in Northern Virginia is tied to politics which is BS.

Photo shows a Cleveland, Columbus & Cincinnati Railroad engine, with a portrait of Abraham Lincoln mounted on the front. The engine was one of several used to carry Lincoln's body from Washington, D.C., to Springfield, Ill. This photograph is a copy, probably made in the early 1900s, of a photo taken in 1865. Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Division.
On this day in 1865, President Abraham Lincoln's funeral train left Washington, D.C., en route to its final destination of Springfield, Illinois. The journey took 13 days and covered 1,700 miles through seven states. The train that carried the slain president was called the “Lincoln Special.” 🧵
This is awesome, thank you!!!!
Inspired by @ditchthattextbook.com I launched into this public domain literacy project a few months ago. A very good use of my time.
Last year, I heard that more than 50 percent of Americans read at a 6th grade level. Working at a public library, I said to myself, "I need to change that." So, here's a public domain literacy video DVD project I've made. tinyurl.com/littlefreeli... Kindly spread the word.
I am so sick of Southwest Virginians claiming those of us born and raised in all other parts of the state aren't real Virginians 🤬
You married well!
For 4/20 my wife got high, sat in a chair petting a cat for an hour, then announced out loud to nobody in particular:
"I'm gonna make pasta beans. Don't ask what that is"
Then she got up and now the kitchen smells amazing.
The thing with Gen X and music is that yes we had grunge but we also had rock and funk and hip hop and rap and pop and house and trance and lounge and reggae and soul and Gregorian chants ffs.
And all of those are the reasons I grew up to be a music librarian🤣 I'm polyjamerous!

Beef prices just hit a record high. A pound of ground beef in many stores now costs more than the federal minimum hourly wage. These people are so out of touch it’s ridiculous.
Happy National Library Workers Day to all who celebrate and unhappy to those who don't!
Thank you for existing! Because of you, I went on to become a Librarian myself ❤️

Because of this Library system I grew up to be a Librarian myself.... At the Library of Congress, 28 years and counting!
A big thank you to all of the librarians out there! You were such an important part of my childhood and helping to develop my love of books. Thank you! #BookSky
Don’t forget to vote Yes today! 💚
And 99% of the time they go above and beyond this already huge call- as a kid I didn’t ever want to go home and I think the librarians knew this and they’d chat with me and let me sit in their back storage area and read old issues of things. (This was before all the shooting stuff happened)
If you’re in Virginia, for the sake of everything that matters to the rest of the civilized world, please get out today and vote yes on the constitutional amendment
Alright, Virginia. Let's fuckin do this. Get out there and VOTE
89 candles would have set off the sprinklers, so we settled for one — and one perfect slice of cake (with @bradtakei.bsky.social on ice cream duty). Thank you to every friend, fan, and fellow traveler who has made these 89 years such a joyous voyage.
I'm going to miss John Candy and Joan Rivers. Are you planning on seeing this?

Then, make a beeline to read those books, if you can. Find out for yourself why those people want that book banned. Find out for yourself if they can be trusted to know what’s best for you.” ~ Jeff Zentner
