N.S. launching 5-person team to incorporate AI into government operations | CBC News The province invested $4.4 million to establish artificial intelligence capabilities this year.

NS Tories: we can’t afford to publish books but we can spend $4.4M dollars to steal from them. #nspoli

Sad to see all these opinion pieces this week from authors arguing in favour of using AI to write books, all of them falling into the "it's inevitable" and "everyone is doing it" trap but simply revealing that they are lazy and lack integrity.
If you don't want to write a book, you don't have to.

My entire feed is awash with people complaining that Avi Lewis isn’t perfect, that protests don’t do anything, that general strikes and economic strikes aren’t possible. I’m sorry to tell you but if we want to defeat fascism and build a better world, we may have to experience minor inconvenience!

Hey. Remember when one of the NS PC staffers retweeted Nazi slogans after the bi-election in 2023? 👎🏻 #nspoli

FRIDAY. NOON. PROVINCE HOUSE.
ALL HANDS ON DECK: WE WON'T STOP SINGING!

We've been thousands strong before. Can we grow even more, and surround the whole building with song?

Nova Scotians' trust has been broken.

Last week, the Houston government made it clear that they didn't do the serious analysis needed to understand the impact of their cruel cuts on Nova Scotia’s post-secondary, arts, culture, or tourism sectors.

You know things are dire when I finally break down and make a podcast.
More episodes coming in the next few days as I speak with Nova Scotians about what’s at stake in this ruinous proposed provincial budget. #cultureiscritical

A sailing event makes sense for #NovaScotia. We are surrounded by the ocean, after all!

There are sailing events all across the province, including for children, women, and people with disabilities. Yet, those events don't get the funding. Why is that?

The Ellison Family - Aka the owners of SailGP that Tim Houston is giving a million of our provincial tax money to and Andy Fillmore is giving a million of our municipal tax money to, so billionaires can sail around our harbour for just 2 days.

Shameful

They’re weakening. They won’t pass this budget before March Break, which means you’ve got an extra week to ask your MLA to make these cuts make sense. If you need help with facts and figures, let me know and I will help you. Let’s go, Nova Scotia.

Don’t go breaking our arts or, Why a capitalist argument doesn’t work for the ecosystem of arts and culture in Nova Scotia What a time to be alive, huh? If you’re wondering why artists and arts organizations can’t just sell more tickets, sell more paintings, sell more records and be self-sufficient, this one’s for you.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.

Remaining politically unbiased requires staying neutral on matters like evidence, relevant past behavior, clear patterns, obvious lies, and observable truth, which is worth remembering whenever somebody starts complaining about political bias.

Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.
