I have the same wheel! A kiwi, right? I started with a spindle too and I did need a lesson to figure out how to work the wheel and get a passable spin. But after that I learnt quickly on my own!

On a choir rehearsal week in Germany. We both sing and vaguely knew (of) each other. Fell in love that week, almost 15 years and two kids ago.

Teaching in the week before Christmas break is a weird mix between feeling relaxed because it’s “just projects and activities” and being on the constant verge of tears because wtf how is it not break yet?

I knit a pair of these when pregnant with my eldest and wore them during labour (until I took everything off of course). Still have them as bed socks!

Thanks! The red one was bought like this and spun from the fold. The other one was a pastel roving that I split into 4 shades and reblended into a long colour change, then did a kind of fractal 😅🩷

There’s loads of us but so many of the age group are L*rries or unbearable OT5s who secretly hate Harry.

It is also a little more uneven, because it was the first time doing this, of course.

I won! My first yarn 🧶 spun with supported long-draw. Looks pretty woollen spun to me! Also pictured is its short-forward-draw sister. I don’t see much of a difference but the long-draw (red tints) feels bouncier.
