Yeah, that’s the roughest part about creating anything, haha. But it’s one more data point to learn from.

Yeah, I think that’s the best course (if you’d play it, it beats trying to guess what some hypothetical player would), but you’re talking to a guy who usually gets hired on to pitch projects, so slightly different beast.

You forgot the secret third thing: unmarketable *and* boring.

That aside, I think you’re pretty much always better off risking alienating some players but connecting with an audience via something bizarre than pulling your punches. For all you know, that bizarre thing is the new safe.

That’s kind of what I was hacking at. I was actually experimenting with methods to fallback on individual tile adjacency rules when the pattern method got stuck. I got them to work with each other, but it didn’t significantly reduce getting stuck in practice.

Happy #screenshotsaturday! Finally have an actual, real-life rainy day, so I think I'm going to get off the computer and read.

I have done my best to hide my sins.

I have! I can't say I'm any expert, but my "unpaid-other-dayjob" is in bike/pedestrian advocacy, so I've gotten a cursory familiarity.

I admire your optimism.

Fun fact about me: I'm a bit obsessed with Pepsiman and have made many pepsi-like prototypes. I think what will eventually drive me mad is forever yearning to make a pepsi-like knowing nothing could ever be Pepsiman.

Clouds have been on my list for while. Nothing fancy, but they go a long way for making the world feel less static.

If you want. It’s an infinite* city, so you can walk where you like. You could walk the same way over and over, though. I won’t stop you.

Excerpt from Wikipedia: “Many cities in Australia's eastern states, such as Melbourne and Sydney, did not have a central town square in their design, due to a fear of rebellion. New South Wales Governors Richard Bourke and George Gipps notably ordered surveyors to not include a town square in city designs, including Melbourne, to prevent the spirit of democracy from arising.”
