I've been working on a new shader language called "easl". The goal is to bring the conveniences you'd expect from a high-level language to the GPU. It's still got some rough edges, but if you're into shaders or creative coding you should check it out! More info in the thread ๐

A series of blue lines that squiggle as they near the bottom of the screen atop simulated brushstrokes in dark green, pale green, dark blue, and slate blue.
Today's exploration.

Two large yellow-ish blobs that look as though they were scraped down a canvas with a trowel are alongside a series of rough lines on the right side of the image. The lines have a slight slant, and are a brown color. Near the bottom of each line it begins to wander and wiggle, only to straighten out as it continues downward.

Excessive force.
I am just so fucking proud of her.
A field of rough orange and yellow stripes that move in waves across the screen.
Digital exploration of some ideas I have for a physical work.

Screenshot of a product description from the Home Depot web site describing a solid brass mail slot set. A portion of text is highlighted which reads "Spring-loaded front flap keeps the mail from entering your home"
If only it were that easy, lol.

If you're interested, I'd recommend starting from this repository, as it's a bit more up-to-date: github.com/Lefuneste83/...
A KLOR 36 key mechanical keyboard. Black case with white and gray keycaps. It's split into two halves, and these halves are joined by a silver cable with brass plugs.
Finally got around to building my KLOR keyboard, and I have to say I'm really loving it so far! ๐

๐๐ป Youโre 100% correct about the back pain, as well! ๐ฅ๐ญ
Sure, if youโd like. Sorry!
Looking forward to it! ๐๐ป
Thanks! Yes, I do. I havenโt updated my portfolio site to include these recent works, but they are available.
๐๐ป
Sorry, had to repost because I'm an idiot.
A painted wood panel with a white background. There is a green and brown geometric pattern painted in acrylic paint that resembles a technical drawing or architectural rendering.
Completed this painting recently. I've transitioned to a mode of art making where I create computer algorithms that generate images, which I then paint by hand. I find mapping rigid computer-based processes to the messy real world to be extremely satisfying.

Yes, exactly! ๐ฅ๐๐ป
This is the third painting that Iโve done in this fashion, and each one had helped me lease how I can do things better, or adjust my approach to encourage certain types of results. If I could get my shit together (unlikely, lol) Iโd create a video montage that shows the progression. ๐๐ป
I do a lot of pre-painting analysis and adjustment with the source SVG to figure out the optimal order to proceed. This is when I take paint transparency into consideration, etc.
I posted a WIP photo a moment ago which shows how I approach it. Since this is all my code Iโve written tools that generate guides on the edges, based on which layers I will be painting. I then plot those onto tape and use a ruler to mask out each layer by hand.
An in-progress photo of a painting in which yellow masking tape is being used to block out sections that will be painted. There are a variety of other tools scattered on the table around it, including scissors, a ruler, and various tubes of acrylic paint and bottles of medium.
I use a combination of tools, but tape is my biggest friend. I like to put guidelines on the edges and then use a ruler to place the tape. Itโs a bit of a process, for sure.
That is hilariously accurate, and thankfully not my inspiration. ๐
I have always found his practice fascinating.
Plus, the mental process of painting is so completely distinct from that of programming that every work is a new exploration of what I can do better, from both the programming side as well figuring out ways to really elevate the medium (a thing I didn't think about a lot as a digital artist, tbh).
A bamboo desk with five small works of art on them, each 63mm x 88mm. They are in black and yellow, and the artwork is abstract line work based on a recursive algorithm that subdivides space in a regular way. The results are reminiscent of technical drawings. There are three Rotring Isograph pens on the left side of the trading cards, and two bottles of ink above them.
Made some "art trading cards" for an upcoming end-of-term art club party at my local community college (where I've been taking painting classes).
Looking forward to seeing what other folks bring - I'm the only person making such aggressively abstract work. ๐

My first plots in a while. Had a break from generative stuff and took the hands-on route instead.

A ghostlike image of swirling paths moving through space and overlapping one another, in a similar but not identical pattern. Grayish-blue against a black background.
No, it just ended late enough that I left it sitting until morning. Iโve almost destroyed my 0.1mm Rotring doing the same thing you described so now theyโre put under observation for long plots. ๐
