Jeffries threatening “maximum warfare” if Florida redistricts

Even more than that, Ossoff found an angle that's vague enough to appeal to everyone. Something I've noticed is that progressive and centrist dems that listen to him both assume he agrees with them because he speaks to things they care about, even if he doesn't specifically align himself with either

I fully think Elon believes the "Soros bucks" stuff is true and is just mad that he hasn't been able to do it too. He tried openly bribing voters for that state level judicial election last year and failed, and the one guy he did help get elected by manipulating X's algos threw him aside immediately

Trump foreign policy boils down to causing massive disasters, then inventing some bullshit story and letting guys like Ron Johnson flesh it out on Fox News, and then hoping nothing else happens ever

the funny thing about sending jd vance out to do sensitive diplomatic negotiations is he has literally no experience. like, none whatsoever. he doesn't even have related experience in lawmaking or some executive role.

The end of Viktor Orbán’s autocratic regime is a victory not just for Hungary, but for people who value democracy around the world. Congratulations to Tisza, to incoming leader Péter Magyar, and to Hungarians everywhere.

The woman is sending ICE operational intelligence to Will Stancil

Okay this isn’t really happening anymore so I can tell you how l had “internal ICE sources”: the 3000 very stir-crazy ICE agents were all going wild on Minneapolis Tinder. Local girls would match with them and string them along for intel. They loved to brag about what they were doing all day

The federal government is not responsible for issuing permits for local protests, public universities are already not private property, and ending the genocide in Gaza is not the same goal as ending capitalism. On a purely factual basis you're 0-3

Calling out the current government isn't challenging the system of power, but calling our a foreign government with above-average lobbying power is? You don't think maybe it's the difference in tactics (trespassing to "occupy" a campus vs organized protests with proper permits) that causes pushback?

So to you, the hallmark of a successful protest movement is being put down before it can achieve any stated aim, while one that exists long enough and grows large enough to influence public opinion is a failure because it doesn't provoke that same reaction?

It’s because no one gets a cool countercultural anti-institutionalist thrill protesting Donald Trump for being bad, something that your grandmother probably does. Only ranting about Democrats gives you that. Sorry but that’s largely the answer

Genuinely, what are we doing here? No, it's not hypocrisy to treat somebody differently for going on CNN compared to Piker's stream even if you find both hosts morally objectionable. There are clearly much bigger differences between the two besides "one is corporate, the other is independent."

This Reddit post is formatted like a joke but it’s actually a very dry recitation - at times, direct quotes - of America’s public war strategy over the last month. This can’t go on. This is deranged. Impeach and imprison.

This is also why nobody in a position of power has been able to adapt to the Trump era correctly. They're too smart (or more accurately too sheltered in well-educated ivory towers) to be able to recognize and deal with an actual head to toe moron

I can't believe the centrists are doing infighting by trying to cancel Joe Infighter

3 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

I also believe this, but with the caveat that I think the latter is much better for this same reason. Any place where a good chunk of the population is made up of "person who wants to move to the city" (which, critically, is not the same as "person who wants to move to a city") is worse off for it

People forget how quickly ground troops become green again. Kabul airport was almost 5 years ago. The youngest enlisted of that have either become NCOs or returned to civilian life. Most frontline combat troops have never seen maneuver warfare.

We don't have to do this. We can let them be young.

This should be an impeachable offense. I understand that we’re way past any of that, but that shouldn’t stop us from naming it.

The only possible explanation I can think of is that he thinks of Josh Shapiro as his biggest rival for the 2028 nomination, and when he saw Shapiro defending Israel the other day he followed suit to avoid getting accused of antisemitism
