conservative Christianity is toxic Christianity.
A progressive Christian knows the evil in trying to know or understand wholly; back to the beginning of our existence, attempting to know as much as God led to our fall. We are called to Love, not to Know. If given the option between loving & knowing, always choose love.
If your faith requires you to declare certain people don’t exist, or that affirming all people is one attempting to be “nicer” or “more loving” than God, it is not Christ you are following but toxic conservative dogma that is demonic in nature and practice.
Pause & Pray: please pray for the communities in Texas affected by this devastating flooding, and pray the people in charge make decisions going forward that better protect our communities.

only religious freedom for a few, is not true religious freedom.
as a pro-life Christian, I believe:
- universal healthcare is necessary
- queer rights are human rights
- Black lives matter
- immigrants deserve protection
- climate change is real & requires immediate intervention
all of these positions based in Biblical truth, life, & love.
I’d also argue it’s between democracy and theocracy (maybe some mix of theocracy and oligarchy). bc those seeking absolute power are seeking to utilize Christian nationalism to do so.
equating Islam with Islamic extremism is like equating Christianity with the KKK. as we all learned from the West Wing episode “Isaac and Ishmael.”
if your issue with theocracy only applies to Islamic extremists and not with Christian nationalism, your issue isn’t theocracy, it’s islamophobia.

Essentially, we are not perfect and we get things wrong. We were never meant to know & understand everything. We are just meant to Love & trust in the Lord, to not be afraid with Him as our guide, and to Love all of His children, this whole Earth, as best as we can.
God is perfect and unerring. Human interpretation however is imperfect. If we see overwhelming evidence of God’s creation that contradicts our interpretation of Scripture, it is not Scripture or God that is erring, but us as interpreters and observers.
Growth can look like education, social justice, scientific advancement, experiencing different perspectives, etc., and relating it back to Biblical Truth.
“Progressive” does not equal “Democrat” nor “liberal.” It reflects the definition of, or relating to, progress. Spiritually, this is reflected in inclusion & acceptance vis a vis growth.

I highly recommend this podcast, specifically the “It’s in the Code” segment on Love and Empathy. it’s a brilliant rebuke of so-called “toxic empathy,” in a way that clearly demonstrates its inherent manipulation, hypocrisy, fallacy, and simplicity.
