So kind Aoife, thank you. Thank you too to @ancloganmag.bsky.social for publishing the original and kindly allowing the repost. I feel very lucky to have had a place to write about Irish republicanism, constitutional theory, ecofeminism, David Graeber & Irish myth all at once! #TheMorrigan is right!

An amazing blog post from @sineadmercier.bsky.social on #TheMorrigan
A fascinating reflection & call on what an #Eco-Feminist Republic Ireland could/should be.

The punchline in this statement is that the West has been too harsh on Germany after World War II. They are calling for the revaluation of the regressive, harmful culture of Nazi Germany and lack the functional literacy to notice this does not cohere with their anti-cultural relativism screed.
The Pope knows the third secret of Fatima...that trumps any Vatican files ...
Here I am, making Catholic jokes brought forth from my childhood...like this is where we are at...
A Japanese researcher just interrupted me in the restroom and said, “are you David Ho?” He proceeded to tell me how much he enjoyed this piece I wrote in Nature. You should read it too. 😄
I've never enjoyed threads of comments so much - the catholic jokes, the protestant jokes, the textualism jokes...all the jokes...it's made for me
As a woman, I offer my sympathies to the Pope who is now being told hourly by very many random men what he actually means
Thankfully it was stood back...point still stands on co-op with US military
& intent is usually so hard to prove in war crimes trials... seriously, this is horrendous.
That this is said aloud & many will cheer is probably the lowest pt this century.
ALL cooperation with US military must stop, or be implicated. He's said it out loud - he's about to commit a war crime.
This was an amazing event to be involved with
Array Collective are an amazing group of feminist artists and it was so lovely to chat to them about their work & Lizzie Bordon's Born in Flames

It would be nice to have some Irish politicans articulate our duties as a peoples like this
I mean if nothing else useful as a question for PIL students. I'm not surprised they have done this though. What will be appaulling will be the articles using it to justify a change in customary international law or Charter interpretation...
On 28 February 2026, the United States commenced combat operations to defend the American people against attacks and ongoing threats from the Islamic Republic of Iran, in cooperation with our ally Israel. These combat operations were undertaken to protect United States Armed Forces in the region, to ensure the free flow of maritime commerce through the Strait of Hormuz and to protect our regional allies and partners from Iran and its proxies. This is the latest stage in the ongoing international armed conflict that my Government previously addressed in a letter to this Council on 27 June 2025. The United States is taking these necessary and proportionate actions in exercise of the inherent right of self-defense as reflected in Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations. These combat operations are also being conducted in close cooperation with, and in the collective self-defense of, Israel. The Islamic Republic of Iran has rejected peaceful coexistence and chosen international armed conflict with Israel as well, waging an unprovoked religious war of annihilation against a once-friendly United Nations Member State located hundreds of miles distant from its borders. Since June 2025, the regime has also massively expanded its ballistic missile production for the purpose of overwhelming regional air defenses in order to provide a shield for its efforts to reconstitute its nuclear program, which it refuses to relinquish. Gaming the international legal system, the Iranian regime routinely seeks to conceal its unlawful acts and to shield itself from accountability by, among other things, deploying proxies such as Hamas, Hizballah and the Houthis. For example, in a letter dated 5 February 2024, my Government reported that the regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its partners and proxies had attacked United States personnel and facilities in Syria and Iraq. That letter identified nine prior letters sent to this Council between 2021 and 2024, a period th…
NEW
Somewhat unexpectedly, the US government has submitted an Article 51 letter to the UNSC articulating the US int'l law justification for attacking Iran.
As someone who used to help draft these letters for the USG, I find the administration's legal arguments completely unconvincing. 1/n

We ask who has authority to bring about constitutional change & how women have long been overlooked. We draw on #feminist theories exploring subjectivity, agency, #protest, and public space to articulate what feminist approaches to constituent power could be.
Myself & @ruthhoughton.bsky.social have a chapter out in Oxford Handbook of Constituent Power that focuses on #feminist approaches
thnx Peter NiesenMarkusPatberg & Lucia Rubinelli for the invite

Thanks for hosting us. It was great to chat about why we did the book & think about the authors in the book whose ideas really stayed with.
The perfect host as always! It was a lovely chat!
Shauna Lawless' books perhaps starting with the Children of Gods and Fighting Men
Obviously if you bring in other scandals you get Bertie & war crimes Tony & I could go on...
Fine example of how the women who were always there & continue to be here working away to ensure peace just get overshadowed by men, their egos & great man narratives.
That's two men on the GFA alone
Never read a fool Macroom... Though that I think is up for revaluation
