new hobby: building homebrew IoT devices, housing them in paper + cardboard structures, and then painting wooden tokens for buttons

when I got into smart home stuff I was really put off by the glossy/plastic aesthetic basically everything has. so, feels rad to bring a handmade vibe

Just saw a report that said the cops shot him TWENTY times. Lol. Lmao even

2 weeks ago 21 4 11 0

Honestly regardless of the crimes someone's accused of, the police should not be able to shoot them dead and then say stuff like "it's a good day" out in public. I mean, look at what his son is saying. It's hard not to have empathy for him here. I think we can ask more of our police force.

Kinda wild that there's a side mission in Pokemon legends z-a where a cop accuses you of a crime you didn't commit and then challenges you to a fight when you deny it

There's a hauntingly beautiful irony in these morons thinking that carefully crafted American hegemony was actually weak and woke, and they would be the ones who would do Power and Dominance properly, and immediately bringing everything crashing down

KARL STEFANOVIC

Let's say everyone else around Australia is getting their spending under control but the

government hasn't and we've seen this rise, Heidi, of One Nation continue to keep rolling,

it's picking up pace with support for the party continuing to surge in the regions, but also

across parts of Victoria, you know, this is a real problem for Labor.

HEIDI MURPHY

I was in the middle of Melbourne yesterday or in the western suburbs of Melbourne doing

a media conference and a man walked past yelling out, go One Nation, it was on and on

and on about One Nation. This is downtown Melbourne essentially or in western suburbs

not in a country town where you might expect it a bit more. They're certainly surging. Does

it turn into votes? We'll know in the South Australian election soon. We face an election

here in Victoria in November. Clearly there's frustration with the major parties at the state

level, probably at the federal level and One Nation's there ready to scoop it all up.

KARL STEFANOVIC

Bridget, I know. Why don't you just join forces with them?

BRIDGET MCKENZIE

Well, Karl, no-one's saying that those on the non-Labor side of Parliament won't be doing

everything we can to stop a Labor government after both the state election and the federal.

KARL STEFANOVIC

So you will join forces with One Nation? You're open to it at the very least.

I was looking up what young Karlos has said about the Isis brides to riff about him getting radicalised by his child bride, but I found this? This is shocking stuff considering what he says on his podcast etc. I was constantly under pressure for being biased at Nine - how does this guy have a job

Has anyone else pointed out that Karl Stefanovic's anti-woke turn is classic stuff for a washed-up, middle-aged dude who blew up his relationship with a woman who was his age and then started dating someone worryingly young? Or am I late to that

PM defends decision to invite Herzog to Australia
Nick Newling
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has backed his decision to invite Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Australia, saying it was appropriate to allow the Jewish community to mourn with the leader.
"He was [invited] because he's the head of state. He's the equivalent of the governor-general, and when the Jewish community asked for their head of state to visit. I think it is appropriate that people be allowed to mourn and to do so respectfully," Albanese told Triple M radio in Hobart.

This is maddening nonsense from Albanese.

Herzog is the President of *Israel*. He’s not the “head of state” for Jews.

This transformation of Jews into some convenient monolith is perverse.
