Photo of the pre-roll certificate of AKIRA in IMAX.
Just watched the IMAX optimisation of god-tier masterpiece AKIRA. Have only seen it a few hundred times prior.
The quality of the animation is devastating. To see Akira is to be defeated.
Thank you!
Painting of someone in a desolate, rocky environment. They are staring into a large pool. In the reflection a futuristic city can be seen.

I'm a go player, albeit a little rusty. This is charming and I hope it doesn't change.
Boorism industry.
You call him small.
I call him PURIFIED.
Idk, getting distinct "culture has produced nothing new for decades" vibes. Every possibility seems pre-concluded, every idea it's opposite.
Was expecting the entire Czech/Hungarian canon, but this is also very cool.
Thank you!
Lott is he/they, I believe, just for the record. He has an incredible look and is very capable of a wide range of gender expressions, so I totally get where you are coming from. Just felt I should say.
Anyone who likes hardcore/grindcore/etc should really check out Victim Unit!

No no no. The fadeout is when the guitarist *really starts shredding*. Gateway to the otherworld.
Damn rough day trading in the marketplace of free ideas I guess
Apps don't make you better at anything. Sad truth.
Yeah I think you are granted a freedom that the employed reviewer would not be. We, the poor and unimportant, can say whatever we like.
Yes.
Also it reveals a newer hierarchy than the traditional authority of the reviewer. Something more given to contemporary production of mass content where there is no institutional gatekeeping to be represented in discourses of 'quality'. However, big downside as you indicate.
I think "reviews" in general have become 'positive or not covered ' in recent years. I can see why in some sense, but there is a bit of a cost.
That is where one puts the various moody goods one is selling...
You can say "perfection isn't the goal" but this is belied by the beauty of Miyazaki's drawing. It is a stunning achievement in line and wash.
Beautiful.
Late to the party as is the wont of the aged, but I have now read The Three Body Problem and think it very good. A real sweeping SF feel, like a good Niven book.
Snip of an LBC headline which accidentally (you'd hope) uses geopolitical phraseology to describe the position of the Artemis II.
We have entered the era of Astropolitics. Please subscribe my podcast where I am expert
Identifying with the Artemis crew because I too wish to leave this crummy planet.
Spending the weekend putting my brutal/slamming death record collection in alphabetical order.
Breee-organising.
Watched the decent-if-unoriginal crime thriller "Crime 101" and thought Ruffalo was doing a Columbo again. Upon searching "Mark Ruffalo Columbo" I discovered this is a fave fan casting idea with many memes supporting it. I'd watch that.
Bruno Mars, bringer of war.
Name your fave supporting actor in a film.
I'm going with Ellen Greene's wonderful turn as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. It's a night spot.
Connery is putting in solid work in that movie as well. He's in good shape in it, and clearly really enjoys the star sheriff character.
