Not that it isn't for me, but the fact that I can't write an honest review for it without affecting the story in the "Algorithm". No matter how much I celebrate the well written characters, my personal review score would be low and that's all the website would see. All most people would see.
I just read a few chapters of a well written story I cannot read more of. The characters are well done and the world seems interesting, but the basic premise and who the one MC is, repels me. I did not rate the story though because it is not for me. Which is somewhat a shame.
Oh, yeah, I wouldn't read it whether the text was genned or not. This was more a response to an argument I saw in the comments. Like, you used AIslop once. I'm not going to believe you when you say you didn't use it again.
Oh, and when I say I can understand a cover. That doesn't excuse the use of AIslop for the cover. I just understand it in the same way I can understand someone dying of thirst on a desert Island might try drinking from the ocean.
I am writing this because I just read a bit of a story that seems half decently written. Except they peppered in a bunch of AIslop images. Not only was it pointless at best, but now I can't trust you when you claim you didn't also gen your story as well.
If as an #author you use AIslop art, but claim that's the only slop you used? I don't believe you. I can somewhat understand someone cheap or desperate using a slop cover because that can be a big deal for attracting readers. But you're WRITING a story. You shouldn't need interior slop art.
I think I'm catching up with my work. Got chapters out the day I try to post them this last week. Now maybe I can make some progress on a nearly done project and start something new. I've got endless prompts and never enough time. Literally just filled Keep Note note with story ideas.

The things that make the story feel like AIslop? Those are a good enough reason to drop the story. I clearly don't like it.
So I did.
I was reading a new web novel I had found and to start it was nice enough. Then something started scratching at the back of my mind and I was like, "Is this AI slop?" Maybe not the first couple chapters (maybe they edited those better), but I realized something. It doesn't matter.
Over on #RoyalRoad the story "Leaving A Legacy" is shaping up to be quite an interesting take on the #XianXia #Cultivation genre. I've really enjoyed what I've read so far!

I don't eat out often, but I can tell you one place I'm not eating anymore, even if I'm offered a meal there by my mother.
I'm kind of annoyed with the person who handled my PT today. I literally just saw my doctor and he said to keep going to PT for a few months, then contact him if it stops helping. And the person today is like, so, how about we stop PT?
Should have written something yesterday. Except it was my first Monday without physical therapy in months and so now here I am now technically in "tomorrow", writing. To be fair, I do tend to either write when I first get up or after midnight, so not strange. Still, going to jam out 2k words now.
Managed to get today's Dungeon's Path Patreon chapter up on time. Maybe the first time in a while, if I'm honest. My physical therapy has gone down from 2 sessions a week to 1 and that helps. It just interrupted my day in a way that wasn't conducive to writing for me.
I'm annoyed. Was reading a new story and it was decent enough. Then the author had to throw in some sexist nonsense. Why? Because it was "traditional" for the cultivation genre. Which is stupid on the face of it. That's like saying you have to make the story racist to write a Lovecraftian novel.
They literally put in more effort bugging you about it than it would have taken to get the local store to order it.
Blarg, finally got all the documents I need for 2025 taxes together. Just messaged my accountant to make sure they're still up for it this year.
Well, that's annoying. My one monitor died. I've ordered a new one (thankfully genAI hasn't raised the prices on monitors yet). I guess I should have seen this coming. The monitor was one I bought almost 2 decades ago for $20 from a thrift store.
"Dao of Money" over on #Scribblehub is a decent take on an alternate style of cultivation. The MC gets shoved into a noble guy with a ton of debt and finds out his Dao is that of making money, though this isn't without problems.
