Gordon. Terrible hair and a ratty face but he's younger and more versatile.

It would be the most Arsenal thing ever...
I really hope not. Gordon would be an expensive way to keep the attack as ineffective as it is already. My big concern is that Berta is just Don Raul part 2. Feels like he's the sort of person who'll sign players from agents he knows rather than ones we need. The attack needs serious work for sure
The annoying thing is that if City or Chelsea had signed him they'd be able to get rid of him for £50m. Instead we'll be stuck with him and probably pay him to leave... Reckon we should see if anyone in Portugal wants him back. Wouldn't mind Morten Hjulmand tbh.
😂😂😂😂
No doubt someone will pay £80m to take him off their hands... 🙃
Surprise, surprise the striker signing that most Arsenal fans thought would be a flop has been a flop. Despite scoring over 10 goals I really hope he doesn't play again unless absolutely necessary. Genuinely feels like playing with 10 when he's on the pitch.
Bit late to the party. Genuinely one of the worst players in the league. It's actually impressive that he scored so many goals in any league tbh given he seems incapable of basic forward play.
Tbf you could easily argue that Raya cost us points Vs Wolves. He's the player who has to claim that ball imo. But I take your point.
Better than last week surprisingly. Still lots to play for and I'm not ready to give up just yet. Although my brain says it's already over my heart can't accept that. Bring on Newcastle.
I do wonder if them being American also influences things. American sport doesn't seem to have the same level of hiring and firing as Football. They seem to change their players and backroom staff more. Personally think Arteta needs to change his pit crew and attacking players
My brother started supporting Man City to bond with my glory hunting nephew. Given you both support different teams to your brothers, do I need to disown him, refuse to speak to him until the season is over or ignore him completely? How do you approach your own family rivalries? #arsecastextra
I don't disagree but it doesn't seem like there's much room for improvement in some of the attacking players tbh. Gyökeres is just not at the level, Martinelli is what he is. Personally I think being ruthless and getting rid of players to upgrade them is a strength and unfortunately it costs money
Amen 🙏. Couldn't put it better myself. Was furious after Bournemouth but imo negativity only brings you down. There is a time and a place for criticism and doing a post mortem on the season, the team and the manager but that isn't now. It ain't over till it's over!
I never wanted Gyökeres but hard to see who we could have got that would have helped this season. Havertz is the ultimate false 9 imo. He's not a striker but we'd have been better with him up top all season imo. Does feel like we need another striker this summer which says a lot about recruitment
A thread that's worth a read. Important reminder that A) football really isn't that important in the grand scheme of things and B) we all have stuff going on in our lives so be kind on here.
I see.. I muted that word as I got sick of all the posts last season! A lot of our fans clearly aren't up for a title race. We've made things harder and City are favourites but it ain't over till it's over!
If it doesn't fit their narrative then they aren't going to mention it. Bet they didn't mention City splashing the cash yet again in Jan either...
What did it say? Says removed by author now.
Certainly have to question his backing of Gyökeres. But he was behind the move for Mosquera who has been great. This summer will show what he's like as it felt like last summer wasn't completely down to him tbh.
I agree with some of what you have said. The football this season has been crap and some of the signings don't look great but equally I hated the late Wenger years and the Emery era... I'd rather be competitive than miles off it. Out of interest who'd you replace Arteta with?
Well we almost solved our injury crisis issues. However it feels like the players we signed have either not been trusted or are not of the level. My takeaway is that we need a £100m+ forward to get over the line. All our best players are defenders or midfielders. Our attack isn't league winning...
Professional athletes are trained on psychology etc. they are much better at compartmentalizing and moving on. I'm very thankful most of us fans aren't coaching them. So many (including myself) have given up too easily and quickly this season already.
I'm worried about Newcastle and not only because I live in the North East. They've been dreadful for ages this season but I guarantee they'll play out of their skin against us... 🙄
I would be amazed if Martinelli is still here next year. The attacking part of the pitch does seem to be an area of weakness for Arteta. Don't think any of his signings have been very good tbh. Feels mad to say after last summer but we really need a £100m+ forward to get the level of player needed
Genuinely how many league games have we actually had our best 11 playing? My guess is around 5? Squad depth has helped but really hard not to feel injuries haven't made this season so much harder than it needs to be... Oh well 🤷♂️
I've said this before but regardless of what happens in the rest of this season I would not be surprised to see a big shake up in the top half of the pitch. Martinelli, Trossard and Jesus should all go imo. I'd add Gyökeres but can't see that happening tbh.
I said after the cup final that City would win all their league games. I'd hoped it wouldn't matter because we wouldn't drop an absolute abomination against Bournemouth. Alas we have to keep going and pray they drop points whilst making sure we don't do the same. Not feeling confident but 🙏🤞
This feels like a good example of lies, damn lies and statistics. Who ever talks about consecutive domestic league and cup competitions when it comes to form. Granted a 0-0 draw and a 1-0 win hardly improve things but this is clearly trying to push a narrative. 🙄
