✨ While arms exports to countries involved in active armed conflicts will generally be prohibited, the new policy includes provisions for “exceptional circumstances” based on Japan’s security needs. Notably, such restrictions will not apply to non-lethal equipment.

✨ Decisions on exporting lethal weapons will be reviewed by the National Security Council, which includes the prime minister and relevant ministers. Exports will be limited to countries that have defense equipment and technology transfer agreements with Japan.

✨ Defence equipment is now classified into two categories: “weapons” - lethal systems such as warships, tanks, and missiles - and “non-weapons” - non-lethal equipment such as radar and protective gear.

✨ As part of this shift, Japan has removed a rule that limited exports to five categories of non-lethal military equipment, opening the door for exports of lethal weapons. This move could help the country’s defence industry compete on the global market.

✨ Large landing ships of projects 1171 and 775 in Sevastopol;

✨ Russian ammunition depots in the areas of Urzuf (Donetsk region) and Loknya (Belgorod region, Russia);

✨ A drone storage facility near Nova Karakuba and a Russian observation post near Blahodatne in Donetsk region.

During the night, Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck a number of targets in Russia, occupied Crimea, and Donetsk region, the General Staff reported. Among them:

✨ Tuapse oil refinery in Krasnodar region - hits on the tank farm and a fire were recorded;

✨ Hvardiiske oil depot in occupied Crimea;

💥Ukraine’s military intelligence GUR “Ghosts” struck two Russian large landing ships in t.o. Crimea – Project 775 Yamal and Project 1171 Nikolay Filchenkov.

Both vessels were in Sevastopol Bay at the time of the strike.
