this guy got so horny defending america's immiseration of cuba that he sent a link to a sextape

"What happens when we say, 'When it finally happens...'": a José Saramago story I like, inviting us to dispassionately consider the abstract (and dreaded) possibility that our beloved leaders might shuffle off this mortal coil into their golden toilets: www.oaklandreviewofbooks.org/trump-when-i...
Had to name drop the guy for a fellow Tennessean
Don’t talk about my violent delights.
Just because yours didn’t end how you wanted
sf's most psychotic voters elected lurie because we weren't happy being governed by only one gavin newsom
it came to my local alamo a few weeks ago and it suuucks
At the urging of President Donald J. Trump, the Guardian Council convened in Qom today to select Matt Patricia as the next Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
GRASSY: I'm not afraid of the magician anymore since I defeated him with my words. But there are lots of things to be really scared of in the world. WEB: The Two Girls And The Terrifying Event. Two girls were walking through the forest together. They were best friends ever since kindergarten. One of them said it would be fun to get maple from a tree so they poked the tree to get it out of there. But what came out of the tree was watery and maroon red. That's right. It was blood. They thought it must just be a weird tree with a bad disease from the bugs. So they tried another tree and it was also blood. They tried the next tree and it dripped with crimson blood. When they got home no one believed them about the blood forest. ASTER: Chilling, definitely. Though I'm not sure it would look any different were it a pure fabrication. DAFFODIL: My heart believes in this. But I bet I could think of something scarier. (Grassy looks at Daffodil with wide-eyed terror.)

had posted something more harsh in response to this post, am just going to leave this here instead. any suggestion that the “tax the rich” protesters “began to chant” antisemitic remarks as Lurie’s quoted statement implies is false, period. they told this bigot passerby off, as they or anyone should
I help cook community dinners here most Wednesdays. The space also does other cool things for the community like distributing free groceries. Chuck it some money to help set up its new home if you can: chuffed.org/project/cata...
THE JOKER (in his capacity as a podcast host): You agree Bats has completely lost it?
GOV. GAVIN NEWSOM: I thi--this is
THE JOKER: It's a simple question. Do you think Birdbrain is the real menace facing Gotham.
NEWSOM: So, this is interesting. It's interesting. You may have something there,
Unfortunately sometimes people do traffic in that kind of rhetoric! It's certainly not the majority of people online but depressingly common among US elected officials
Agreed. And I'm not opposed to using the term Kahanist or anti-Kahanist. But I'll go ahead and keep being anti-Zionist too.
Vaguely analogous to how in the US protest/activism shouldn't be so laser-focused on opposing Trump that it lets in the "adult in the room" types who gave us Trump.
I think it's worth keeping in mind that the more "normal" Zionism of the past led to what we have now, and not letting go of a broader critique to focus solely on the current far-right regime (even though of course it is vital to oppose it).

I guess that doesn't quite sit right with me because I could see a world in which Israelis are convinced by international opprobrium to elect a non-Kahanist government that keeps doing apartheid, and then the rest of the world lets it
Reducing criticism of Israel to anti-Kahanism to me feels like it may be asking too little. Israel was a racist apartheid state, a committer of war crimes, etc., long before it was governed by Kahanists, and would continue to be under Gantz or Lapid or whoever
ugh that's almost more upsetting if it's just The System not our unusually bad DA at fault. but thanks for pointing it out
great work as usual by sf prosecutors. you can go 70 on a 25 mph street, plow into a bus stop and kill a whole family and you don't even permanently lose your license. meanwhile they're trying to lock people up for inconveniencing drivers during a protest
Yayyyy
Luke O'Neil wants to smoke a quick little ciggie around the corner with Kirsten Dunst and Lizzy Caplan and tell them about his favorite Built to Spill songs.
NEW: ProPublica went inside the detention center for immigrant families in Dilley, Texas.
Children held there told us about the anguish of being ripped from their lives in the United States and the fear of what comes next.
Great book. Another I like that is kinda similar is "The Way to the Spring" by Ben Ehrenreich
no just some guy. there's no connection to the tv show wednesday, google ai invented that
