Plus: make sure to stick for bonus categories for things I think *should* be awarded, but are not recognized by (most) major voting bodies. I also combine or don’t have a big feeling for some of the standard categories this year and will not when applicable.
We’ll start off, as is tradition, with…
Also: these are not Oscars predictions. That’s a different and much less interesting list at this point in the race. As such, many films here were not even considered for nomination, much less plausible contenders for taking home a little gold man.
Caveats:
While I saw a lot of this year’s films, I am a human with limited time and a day job, and live in a country where it took many months for many of these films to arrive anywhere I could watch them! There’s a few I never got around to (sorry Hamnet, F1, and Frankenstein, among others).
Sean Connery waxes about the joy of “da moviesh.”
In honor of tonight being the year’s biggest night in movies, I would like to present…the Landrys: an uncalled for, non-exhaustive, and completely subjective rundown of the year’s cinematic triumphs (the nominees and winners of which could change completely depending on the time of day)!
Get in loser, we're changing liberalism.
I haven’t mentioned here yet, but I’m lucky enough to be working with the folks at @liberalism.org these days, and am super excited. It’s great to be back with old friends like @aaronrosspowell.com, and just as cool to be helping out new ones like @uncanonical.net on this new series. Subscribe!
This is sure to be good! Canon is my kind of liberal, and these are some great podcast guests!
