Though that exploration often ends up with an hour spent just drafting a sketch - all valuable practice time! But I could def do with remembering to use references more often lmao

I think for this I was trying to embody the way horses rear up - I wanted to make sure this fellow felt -weighty-!

It's mostly off memory! Been drawing so many critters that I've gotten used to improvising anatomy and poses- and I often try to explore dynamic poses and just aim to get the "feel" right-

Aight gonna have to maybe look into automating crossposting, but we'll see how this'll go - bluesky does seem like a pleasant alternative after all
