I do a ton of romance narration and it doesn’t require a lot of research, and STILL it’s rarely a walk in the park. Narration is HARD.

Me: [looking around nervously] Can only you see the time being?

Boss: Huh?

Me: Is it standing near me?

Boss: Who?

This damn post has absolutely ruined my brain every time I hear someone mention "for the time being." Major kudos to the poster, if I ever meet you in person I will congratulate you and then punch you in the face.

Gaga is battling an upper respiratory thing, and I’m on pins and needles about Thursday’s concert!

For me, the question isn’t whether generating art with AI is good or bad. It’s just definitionally impossible. Art is what humans create to express the nonliteral. An algorithm, however much data it has, has no sense of the nonliteral. It might make something that pleases you, but it can’t make art.

"One principle of collage, for me," Sante said, "is you have to kill one thing to make another. It's a small-scale model of revolutionary behavior."

Album cover of Raye in a red dress pulling a rope connected to a door in the sky. It reveals a blue sky with the words “this music may contain hope.” The background, otherwise, is cloudy and ominous.

Ooooh this Raye album is ON FIRE.
I am in awe.

Melissa Faliveno’s Hemlock blends addiction, grief, nature, myths, and gender roles in a gripping, beautiful way.

I was sold by the front flap jacket copy:

“A woman haunted by a dark inheritance returns to the woods where her mother vanished in this queer Midwestern gothic—a butch Black Swan.”

Nonstop listening to the new Ladytron album today.

It's like I'm taking a long neon-glow road trip across the country in the year 2167.
