I hate it. I HATE IT SO FUCKING MUCH. I did everything that I could up to and including seeing the future, and only blundered in not seeing far enough into the future. Its been 1 month since the bill got amended into the current abomination in committee, and its going into effect tomorrow. FUCK!!!

Is there some form of guide to help young hopefuls on their path towards that anointed class?
Socialization is deeply interactive, and treating it like an event that happens to us instead steals our Selves from us./end
Many decades, but when you paint trans women as having been socialized male you deny them this truth which I think points to one of the clearest ways in which the male/female socialization dichotomy fails to actually usefully describe the world.

out, where they behave as though they were socialized to be very interpersonally small. To avoid taking up space, or oxygen, or attention in any capacity that they can.
That the socialization of young cis girls teaches them this same behavior is a fact that feminists have been commenting on for/6
that you see common patterns in trans women emerge that make them appear like they had girlhoods, even though everyone around them growing up thought they were treating them like boys. There is a common trait among trans women, especially leading up to and in the immediate aftermath of coming/5
Doing "boy" wrong, she internalizes that rebuked differently, and behaves differently the next time, and so is corrected or rewarded differently the next time, and so their paths, and also their socializations diverge.
It is through this process of negotiated and renegotiated social identity /4
About these things because socialization is not a blanket of actions and pressures done to an individual, but a negotiation between that individual and the social forces acting upon them.
When a young closeted trans girl performs "boy" wrong, and is punished for that in the same way as a cis boy /3
If you go about your life thinking of trans women as having been socialized "male" after the pattern of cis boys in their age and class, you will be wrong. You'll be wrong about the way they were treated growing up, about the lessons they were taught, learned, and internalized. You will be wrong /2
When I say that male/female socialization is a bad framework to reach for to explain gendered differences, I say it because there is a better way to do a more accurate analysis of those differences, and that trying to paint childhood experiences with that brush leads you to wrong conclusions. /1
If you call yourself our ally then make your disgust at us the punchline of your fucking jokes, then I'll be honest and say I'd rather have spat in your face then to ever have heard you call yourself my ally at all. Earnestly fuck every one of you disingenuous pieces of shit.
I won't hold my breath. Hoping for the best for you though.
If you haven't read Whipping Girl yet, that's where you should start. As far as "standing a chance at radicalizing you," idk really. But if you want to be convinced, I think Serano tends to write more persuasively and in ways that she cites more thoroughly on her blog.
The best thing trans men and all other people can do in the face of trans women being attacked for using womenβs rooms is to explicitly stand up for trans women against the attack.
Cis people need to learn about transmisogyny if they want to be allies with trans women.
I love it. I love that our danger can only be secondary to the danger posed to cis women by attacks on us. That our medications only need protection because cis women use them more. That banning us from bathrooms only matters because of cis women getting caught in it. I love mattering this much.
THERE IS SISTERHOOD EVERYWHERE FOR THOSE WITH EYES TO SEE.
