This sits inside HT's Scientific AI Flagship — connecting all of HT’s research Centres and Flagships on Ciliopathies, Cardiometabolic Disease & Evolving Disease, plus national facilities in Structural Biology, Genomics & Light Imaging. A rare setup under one roof. 6/9

Real projects already running: multimodal breast cancer risk prediction (imaging + EHR), AI for integrating cryo-ET & spatial omics of cilia, generative spectral unmixing to image more with less light, and a multimodal Alzheimer's atlas from 20,000+ histology slides. 5/9

Methodologically, we build on:
→ Uncertainty-aware posterior models.
→ Representation learning and multimodal latent spaces.
→ Physics-informed, cross-scale, causal AI.
→ Commitment to open, FAIR, usable tools.
All this built on Transformers, SSMs, flows, GenAI, and all the methods we all love. 4/9

Our long-term goal: take a cryo-EM structure, a spatial transcriptome, and a patient EHR. Then predict which molecular perturbations will alter disease progression, with calibrated uncertainty at every step. We're not there yet. But every project we launch is a step toward that. 3/9

Excellent #AI tools exist for microscopy. Others for single-cell omics, spatial transcriptomics, clinical prediction. But biology doesn't respect those boundaries. Disease emerges from molecular events rippling through cells, tissues, organs, populations. We need AI that connects those scales. 2/9

It's out! Happy to present ITEC, a semi supervised algorithm with an extremely low error rate that can track cells in files of any size (think Terabytes!). We used it in many organisms, including zebrafish, to study how organs form and linked it to gene expression www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... +🧪
