Trump’s on-shoring of US manufacturing going well then? meantime Trump, with able assistance from Vance & Hegseth, is dismantling goodwill, trade & mutual assistance among America’s hitherto allies & friends.

Check out how nervous these kids are and how bossy and aggressive the interviewer is.

Striking too how many say that they get sworn at.

The good old days apparently.

I think everyone would agree that the police and MPs shouldn’t be shoplifting.

Another single, sad, episode of the deep & lasting Brexit is causing to the UK economy. The 'benefits of Brexit' dumped on us by the either naive, xenophobic or economics ignorant who comprised the Brexiters.

It's fantastic to learn that the extension to Govan Old is already under construction. This will really improve the visitor experience and improve access to the Govan Stones.

The people behind Govan Old sound like they're really switched on and get things done. jmarchitects.net/govan-old-pa...

Marco Rubio declared that under the Constitution being born in the USA does not make you a citizen unless your parents are citizens.

Marco Rubio's parents were Cuban immigrants who were NOT citizens at the time of his birth.

Do you think Marco will now self-deport?

Vote SNP 1 Scottish Greens 2 - updated swing calculation:

Points of interest:
a) if 12% of SNP 2 votes went to the Scottish Greens, then the SGs become the official opposition
b) a 38% swing of SNP 2 votes to SGs makes a combined indy support of 66.7% - a 2/3rds super majority

The polling cited here only has two questions, neither of which include the words "assisted dying".

I would argue that's quite misleading

Sir, I endorse your leading article’s call for a review of the medieval arrangements of the Duchy of Cornwall, which provides the heir to the throne with “quite a staggering income” over and above the sovereign grant of £132 million. Given that Prince William is Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps and that as heir to the throne he will presumably eventually take on his father’s title of Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, it would appear to be the greatest hypocrisy for the Duchy of Cornwall to be charging the army to train soldiers on Dartmoor and the navy for using the duchy’s coastal slipways and harbours. Given the repeated calls for more money to be urgently spent on defence, surely the King and Prince of Wales must realise it is imperative that these charges be dropped immediately? This would be in the country’s best interests. It would also be an excellent place to start the modernisation of this “anachronistic expression of royal entitlement”, under which the Duchy of Cornwall and the Duchy of Lancaster generated a combined income last year of more than £40 million.

Fundamental, existential, questions for the UK Labour Govt, party & movement raised by this barbaric death penalty legislation, not least given the existence (albeit now secretive) of Labour Friends of Israel.

Scotland isn’t sleepwalking into austerity, rather its entire mainstream political class is in wilful denial. No main party is honestly addressing the fiscal challenge, as evidenced by the Scottish Fiscal Commission, RSE, Fraser of Allander Institute, independent sources (Muscatelli), now IPPR Scot!

So, fiscal austerity, wrong-headed economics in itself, is no excuse for the acute & deepening UK poverty & inequality since the Cameron/Osborne Conservative Govts.

Post from me from December 2024 that says RFK Jr. is not trained in any area of medicine or science. He has never applied for a research grant, conducted an experiment, or published a peer-reviewed paper. We should never, EVER compromise with people who lie about vaccines and public health.

I have never wavered in my position that there can be no compromise with RFK Jr. He is a dangerous fraud who has caused incalculable damage to public health.

It’s extremely disappointing that the President of the American Medical Association was doing a photo op with RFK Jr. this morning.

See recent podcast from the inimitable James Kelly on this inbuilt ‘penalty’. He makes a strongly persuasive case for voting 1st SNP on constituency, then 2nd for Greens on Regional List if you seek Scottish independence; hence avoiding an arguable pointlessness/waste of voting SNP on both counts.
