I’m betting the dialog on that Gary Varvel cartoon is not what he wrote. Varvel is a dyed-in-the-wool right winger. He’s down for any agenda as long as it comes from a Republican.

I was as well. And Doorman is at least the second of this group to appear in the MCU. Mr. Immortal turned up in She-Hulk, Attorney at Law.

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
Also,
Hungary kicking Orbán
To the curb.

With apologies to Emily Dickinson.

Tonight in Budapest’s Heroes’ Square, a sea of young Hungarians—who’ve only ever known Orbán’s corrupt, suffocating regime—are packed together, singing, chanting, and daring to dream of freedom again.

Their hope is raw, their courage is real. The heart of Europe is beating in Budapest tonight. 🇭🇺❤️🇪🇺

Mark Evanier has had a large amount of original comics art stolen from his home; there's a list at this link. If you're involved in buying or selling art, please circulate it.

Many people who are not you and I made fortunes today because Trump TACO'd and they had advance notice he was going to do so. The often repeated pattern is as unmistakable as the offense itself.

Add this to the list of crimes to be prosecuted in the next Democratic administration.

Now that we appear to have avoided the promised catastrophic war crimes, the price per gallon of regular at my local Costco (Los Angeles) is currently $5.59.9, a 4 cent increase since last week, a full 40 cents over the last month. #priceofgas #trump’swar #trump’sfolly #inflation #costco

We attended an A’s vs. Giants game at Oracle Park last season. So many Oakland fans in the stands wearing their A’s gear. The Giants clobbered them, of course. While we had a great time we couldn’t help feeling bad for the faithful who turned out.

Not to be conspiracy minded, but that apostrophe on “fuckin’” is really bumping me. Seems more like something Hegseth would bother to type out.

I’m about to finish the most recent season. There are moments when I feel like the writing gets a little precious, but that ensemble! That ensemble is gold!

And you’re right; Jessica Williams is the real thing.

Yeah, they’re saying $152 million now, but once they get in to the work we’ll see the price tag go up, and up, and up.

Oh, for god’s sake! Susan Collins never SAYS she wants to go along with Rottenhand’s agendas but she’ll only ever vote against him if it’s clear they have the votes without her. We’ve seen this time and again!

“The Frisco Kid” is a movie that struggles with its tone. Frank De Vol’s score doesn’t do it any favors in that regard… I suspect the studio pressed him to “make it like ‘Blazing Saddles’.” Still, it’s Gene Wilder, so well worth the watch.

Watching it as an in-flight movie was maybe not the optimal way to see it, but “Blue Moon” is terrific. Ethan Hawke is terrific. If you haven’t already, you owe it to yourself to see it.
