You’re speaking my language with Elric. He was my gateway fantasy antihero as a kid.

Many thanks for including me and n this list! It’s fine company to be in!
Danzig is quite compact. It’s shocking in-person.
I once spotted Glenn Danzig at an LA Best Buy. Followed at a distance into the parking lot, caught up and said, ‘Hey, are you Glenn Danzig?’ He quietly says, ‘Yeah, man. That’s me.’ All I could think to say was, ‘Dude!!! Uh <long, uncomfortable pause> you fuckin’ rock!!!’ Not my finest hour.
Does my heart good to know you loved it! Thanks for making my day!
Does my heart good to hear it! Thanks!
Secretly, we all love the abuse our cats give us.
Be thankful for friends and family. Be thankful for your passions. Be thankful for life and health. Be thankful for another day in the fight, even if you don’t always win it.
Be thankful.
#HappyThanksgiving everyone! Love to you all!
I’ve owned Daniel Woodrell’s WOE TO LIVE ON for at least a decade but I just read it over the weekend.
I can’t remember the last time I read a novel that was so brief (only about 250 pages) yet so dense with texture and incident.
Highly recommended.
Finished the first draft of a brand new book today, a hardboiled mystery set in 1930s Hollywood, about 80K words. First wrote an outline for it in 2013. Started actually writing it in March 2023.
Yay, me. 🤓
Closing in on a finished first draft of a new book. Technically, it’s draft 1.5 because I already finished it once, but it needed work before my beta readers could look at it.
Everything before the first beta read is ‘Draft 1’, no matter how much work I’ve already put in on it.
I’m shit at social media in general, but I’ve been really lazy about engaging here, specifically. With the mass migration to this platform underway, I promise I’ll try to do better.
Happy book birthday to THE FIFTH WARD: FIRST WATCH, unleashed 7 years ago today by #orbitbooksus and #orbitbooksuk
Nice evening for a little rooftop bar action.
Ah yes…that feeling when you send your agent your ‘finished’ manuscript and hold your breath, expecting an email that says, ‘You know, now that I’m looking at this again, I think it needs…’

I love the feeling of doing a final read-through of a new book—just to tighten the screws and file down the rough edges—and feeling that *it works.* Years of effort, planning, headaches and frustration have made something, and that something now needs to go out in the world in search of a home.
Just got here. Hey-howdy!
