Grim but useful read.

Tbf I’m looking to use as little concrete as possible which has ginormous carbon footprint. Ireland has one of highest in Europe and when you remove the top 3 (as it’s used for mountain tunnels etc) Ireland tops out.
Wow… we’re waiting on tender now 😬
Also sorry your son was ill.
We also are gonna struggle with defined quotes due to Trumps and Bibi’s war
So we’ve a big ish country house 200+ years old (circa 4500sqft) we do one tank of kerosene a year in all. To retrofit the entire house including works we’re doing approx 750k
Nothing can justify
We’re doing a pretty extensive part renovation (lol at costs could literally buy a cottage on an acre up the road for same price) and we’re deciding against a heat pump as not cost efficient vs kerosene. But we will put in ground solar as don’t seem to have any of the HP negatives.
I don’t think those math math tbh
It’s all a big convenient distraction from positive change. Some change is hard. Some have to adapt.
There comes a point (and millions of lives lost) where you have to say right… these attempts at dialogue aren’t working and we (EU in particular) need to put on our big person pants and do something. Jesus Christ!!!!!!
Between climate change being removed from G7 to appease the orange moron….And the humanitarian crisis that is growing by the day due to the disgusting behavior by Israel and the US and the piggy bank… with crickets from other western govs (exc Spain) would make you lose faith in politics completely
Oh dear
Yup. But the Laurel in places is VERY established.
I see a little bit but not much being honest. Lots of laurel and a bit of rhodo. No deer round here thankfully
Happy Earth Day.
A reminder that we’re racing through space on a universally insignificant but yet incredibly special rock TOGETHER… complete with all our disagreements and differences.
We depend on the millions of species and delicate climate to survive.
Oh god thankfully not as bad as rhodo although around here the laurel makes me so angry. It’s so bad and through gorgeous forest where I see no young trees :(
I kinda find it here people just let it happen? Is this a US thing? It’s weird a president can do all these things…
Yes! My friends bro was killed by one. Them and wilderbeast are deadly more so than lions etc
Is it just a hippo
That and ozone depletion. Of Concorde get going or use increased we’d be cooked
15% of fossil fuels extracted each year are used to make fertiliser, run farms, process foods and transport them. In a very real sense our food is made from oil and gas.
We are about to feel a very painful food shock.

Around farming and feeding the country whilst I see tillage and veg farmers dwindling, the lack of milling in Ireland etc. It’s a well spun PR story and it’s frustrating that all farmers (regardless of what type) get lobbed into that.
Rural Ireland is more than just farming.
Former city person living very rurally. Yes urban subsidizes rural but a key issue is urban is primarily US tech or pharma companies so I’d argue urban/enterprise is wildly ignored forgotten. We export a lot of ideas - Stripe/Lets get checked etc etc
I do get frustrated with the rural rhetoric…
It is both true that rural areas are subsidized by urban areas and that planning (or lack of) in rural areas has made the provision of the most basic services incredibly difficult and impossible in somecases... Making rural areas hard places to live
lol at Iran not even coming to the talks
I loved Hugh ❤️ he was such an absolute joy.
lol 😂
I can’t keep up anymore…
Is the strait open or closed
Anyone introduced kittens to dogs before?
How’d if go 😬
I appreciate that and maybe the tech is moving to fast but it doesn’t justify the waste
Pretty sure phone batteries are purposely getting worse.
It just means they’ve to be available for 10 years and be easily changeable. It’s nothing to do with innovation
