Labour’s plans to ditch the universality of rights by ‘hollowing out’ the ECHR has dire implications for the Good Friday Agreement. All in an attempt to appease Reform voters who would never switch their vote to Labour anyway. A betrayal of the GFA to target racialised minorities in the UK.

10/ As an aside, I have always thought, and still think, that legislative repair would be better. Both the GRA 2004 and the EA 2010 are increasingly outdated and clumsy pieces of legislation. But the law as it is still ought to be interpreted properly.

Gorton and Denton byelection campaign hits final day with new poll saying it is too close to call who will win – UK politics live Opinium poll says it is ‘incredibly tight’ between Reform UK, Greens and Labour and all have a credible chance of winning Good morning. It is the last full day of campaigning in the Gorton and Denton byelection and a new poll is out which suggests – that it is too close to call, and that the Green party, Labour and Reform UK all have a credible chance of winning. The data is a bit more specific than that. Opinium has done the poll for Byline Times and Forward Democracy and the figures show a dead heat amongst all voters (the Greens and Labour on 28%, Reform UK on 27%), but the Greens marginally ahead (30%) of Labour and Reform UK (both on 28%) amongst people likely to vote. The poll suggests that tactical voting could easily swing the contest, with anti-Reform voters significantly more likely to switch to the Greens than to Labour. Around two thirds (66%) of those Labour and Liberal Democrat voters surveyed said they would be prepared to switch to the Greens if they were the party most likely to beat Reform, compared to just 41% of Green and Lib Dem voters who said they would switch to Labour to defeat Farage’s party. In a new post on the Palestine Action case, I ask whether, given the High Court's conclusion that proscription was unlawful, the Metropolitan Police is right to say that the organisation remains a proscribed one.

Less than 2% of those related to immigration.

And more than 90% of THOSE were dismissed by the Court.

This ruling is disappointing but one thing is clear: the EHRC’s draft code of practice got the law wrong and must be changed. Women's and men's toilets can be provided on a trans-inclusive basis for customers and service users. [1/3]
