The difference there is Matt Shaw is a good defensive 2B, and he was able to overcome concerns about his arm strength. Bichette has literally graded out as one of, if not the worst, defensive SS in baseball. I'm less sanguine about his ability to handle 3B. I do think he can play 2B.
