Not sure about that, although it does appear Robbins has been made a scapegoat for no good reason. I'd say not enough is being made of Robbins' claims that he felt under pressure from No.10 to wave through the appointment, unless we're saying the buck no longer stops at the top?

A thoroughly unpleasant individual. Its almost as if its a pre-requisite for the job.

Surely there's a story there? What about the "lost" whatsapps on McSweeney's phone? I'm sure there's nothing in it, but worth asking the question. It appears the political media are deeply incurious when it comes to government cybersec policies. I'd find it incredible if messages weren't backed up.

Also, pause for a second if you like to consider what these Starmer-friendly commentators would have said were it Boris Johnson presiding over such an obvious lapse in national security vetting. If they were honest, they'd acknowledge it.

If Robbins was under pressure to push the appointment through from No.10, who is responsible for setting that direction of travel? Another case of the buck stopping miles short of the top? Seems so.

The usual Starmerite commentators are out in force again willing us to move on nothing to see here.

Why then if Olly Robbins, as it appears from his evidence to the select cmttee, has done nothing wrong, was he fired in haste last week? What are they hiding?

Whilst most of the establishment media appears ready to conclude that in fact the buck stops some way short of the top, have we all forgotten that not long ago we were being asked to believe WhatsApp messages can't be retrieved from backup?

I'd still like to know what happened to the WhatsApp conversations on his former Chief of Staff's phone and whether it is govt policy to ensure official comms are supposed to be backed up, so if a phone is lost or stolen the messages can be restored per standard app functionality.

๐Ÿ‘‡ there are only 3 possible explanations for what happened and none of them are good for Starmer. He should be toast.

Starmerbots want everyone to believe the PM didn't know Mandy failed vetting. Inconceivable.

In a normal world this would be a resignation issue.

The establishment have decided to use the war with Iran to push for welfare cuts. Grubby and predictable.

Big oil profiteering off of war. Surely not?

He works as an advisor to The Cohen Group whose clients include weapons manufacturers.

And cashing in big time. Lord Robertson ex defence minister and NATO chief sounds so much more respectable than paid advisor to the military industrial complex.

Its obvious why companies like The Cohen Group pay big sums to ex-ministers of state for "advisory" services. They will be allowed to set the agenda on important matters of public policy in the national media without the public being made aware of their conflict of interest. What is that called?

Funny that. Mine was born there and we go over as often as we can. More family there than over here. Was in Colorado in October, no problems at all.

Typical that when Scotland qualify for the first time in a generation, nobody will be able to afford to go and watch them.
