“go back to the moon but this time we have really good cameras” was a fantastic idea

I organically discovered this today while searching for LK mentions and was wondering if you knew 😅 thanks for your many, many years of work and advocacy @skepchick.org

If that's been you're experience (I'm sorry, by the way 😞), I'm not looking forward to picking up where I left off this week with trying to persuade pharmacists in Florida 🫠

I'm not sure whether this is actually binding anywhere, but in states where it's implemented, that should be as simple as a quick consult with the pharmacist before administration of the vax, hopefully

Thank you!

It's unfortunate that he's the closest thing we have to a voice of reason on that committee, because he was also pretty problematic, at times. Specifically, today, when he essentially suggested that the popular opinion of the vax should be considered during their deliberations

The requirement for a prescription was indeed voted down, just barely. 6-6 tie and the ACIP chairman broke the tie and killed that vote

6 months ago 2 0 0 0

Having had some time to process the ACIP meeting, I am left not fully understanding the apparent conflict of:

The FDA approving COVID19 vaccines for those aged 65+ and those with underlying conditions.

ACIP *appearing* to have recommended them for everyone over 6 months without a prescription.

6 months ago 187 40 15 2

ACIP voted and this doesn't change the FDA approval criteria, is pending a final decision from CDC acting dir. O'Neill, and might be overruled anyway by FL's quack surgeon general Joe Lapado. So, what now? 🫠 What a time to be alive.

I've been trying to get vaxxed in rural FL this week & the only pharm chain in the area administering is CVS, requiring a prescription for anyone under 65. Primary care provider is confused about the need for an Rx and individual PharmDs at CVS are punting to Monday waiting for outcome of ACIP vote

"This can never happen again. It ends now."

I wish Jesse had that same energy and intensity every time his network breaks in to cover the latest school shooting in America.

The open source YT-DLP (github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp) works great - if you you want a GUI to interact with, there are plenty of options there, as well, dor example: github.com/dsymbol/yt-d...

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

Thank you for advocating on behalf of all of the people of the United States @booker.senate.gov. Proud to have you by our side in this fight.

I am BEGGING people to frame this properly. The issue here is not one colossal blunder where a reporter got info. The issue is it’s clear these people are all routinely ignoring the most absolutely basic security protocols, and WE HAVE NO IDEA what breaches this has already enabled.

@schumer.senate.gov @democrats.org @actblueorg.bsky.social you all know why. Way to betray your own supporters and collaborate with the people who are already doing the very things you claim to be saving us from. Voting for that CR and against leveraging a shutdown was a monumental mistake

Incredibly demoralizing that our electeds won't fight for us. But we have to continue fighting for ourselves and others, even if they won't.

Every Democrat who voted for cloture is not up for reelection until 2028 or 2030 except for Durbin, who may retire in 2026 anyway.

It's like they know this vote to enable Trump/Musk will be widely unpopular with Democratic primary voters but think those voters will forget about it in a few years

Here are the “Democratic” Senators that voted YES on the GOP budget that doesn’t protect Medicare and Social Security:

Schumer-NY
Fetterman-PA
Cortez-Masto-NV
Durbin-IL
King-ME
Schatz-HI
Hassan-NH
Peters-MI
Gillibrand-NY
Shaheen-NH

They should all face primaries.

Don’t let them forget it. No peace for them.

I don't want to raise false hopes, but I don't think this is over. If you haven't called your Dem Senators yet today, now's the time.

Republican Senator Kennedy speaking to reporters, thanks Senator Schumer "for doing this and for seeing the light here. We might make a Republican out of him" RE: Schumer's surrender to Trump/GOP and publicly endorsing cloture on the House CR
