#weirdcarbs Each day I'm going to endeavour to pop a "Car of the Day" in my feed. Could be anything, old or new. Join in the fun by marking it out of 10, with 10 being high. I'm intrigued to see how we all feel about different models. To start us off..The Vauxhall Carlton Diplomat. A solid 8 from me

Is it having a wee?
When I'm working, randomly and without any set timescales, windows 11 just signs me out of everything 365. Could be 30 mins in, 2 hrs, 8 hours.. sometimes 4 or 5 times a day. No rhyme or reason.
Cos modern tech. I genuinely think we peaked in the 2010s with optimum tech and cars. Now everything is so intrusive, invasive and sneaky. Googles "update" on the pixel 4a that screwed the battery all because people were keeping old tech. Forceable shifting is not cool.
That was an awful watch.
Mitsubishi?
Looks very similar to a Nissan Prairie.
I remember the advert.... tremendous!
Old luxury. Less intrusive tech, fixable yourself for the most part and better value.
This was mine and like Mr J, the Probe shades it for me. It's the pop up headlights 🤣. I'm such a child lol!
It's just getting out of hand isn't it? Europe put the brakes on AI citing concerns over mass unemployment and the state not being able to cope. UK don't seem to have switched on yet. Meta, Google and Apple, as well as others just plough on to 1984.
Don't get me wrong...there's more tbh... I'd love a Jensen Interceptor as well as a Lotus Esprit! Amongst other things lol.
The Lotus Carlton is also my dream car. Lottery win goes as follows:
Daily...2000 M5
Weekend blast...Escort RS Cosworth
Special/show car...Lotus Carlton
Renault's Porsche 924. Still a cracking car.
That's such a beautiful thing.
I certainly feel happier than when in my modern 308. I really look forward to driving my Cougar even though it was a project to work on. The level of satisfaction fixing stuff myself and each time surprising myself. Stuff I thought I couldn't do, then when you fix it, you drive it and it feels epic.
Back in the early mid 90s, I bought a Primera 2.0 eGT and it was an absolute hoot to drive. Very underrated cars. When they arrived in Britain in 89/90, they promptly showed other car makers how it's done. Until Ford introduced the Mondeo which then changed the game again.
Nope. I drove both my Peugeot 308 and my Ford Cougar. Prices don't affect me as I only ever put £30 in 😉
Yep
Feel your pain. We have inconsiderate parents with their twatty SUVs and 5 kids parking where they like and damaging cars. Both of mine have been damaged.
Never a truer word spoken! I know from experience with my Ford Cougar.
This was the one I saw at FOTU year before last.
Love that Charade GTti. 998cc of mental madness.
Well that's a bloody spoiler I didn't need!!!
Last tonight, but certainly not least. Would you like to waft along in a comfy Jaaaaag? Well for less than 2k, you possibly could. Beautiful colour and spec. auctions.wbandsons.com/auction/lot/...
Next up. German? Check. Sporty? Check. Timeless design and build? Check. Guide price of £1000 - £3000 takes this beauty away. auctions.wbandsons.com/auction/lot/...
Well well. You fancy a 2nd bite of the cherry? Surely someone wants this absolute treasure of a car. Step forward Mr Ford Granada. Again, possibly a bag of sand could take this away. Lots of lovely Ford goodness. auctions.wbandsons.com/auction/lot/...
But hey old Brit boy...I don't want to faff on in a cheap Mini. I want a prestige soft top but on a budget. What do I do? Very simple..you enjoy this for around £1200. auctions.wbandsons.com/auction/lot/...
