Programming Sucks They have a point. Mordor sucks, and it’s certainly more physically taxing to dig a tunnel than poke at a keyboard unless you’re an ant. But, for the sake of the argument, can we agree that stress and insanity are bad things? Awesome. Welcome to programming.

"Most people don’t even know what sysadmins do, but trust me, if they all took a lunch break at the same time they wouldn’t make it to the deli before you ran out of bullets protecting your canned goods from roving bands of mutants."

I have a theory that people who have close contact with special needs are better at talking to LLMs too from a similar thought process. They're more used to knowing how to use language for those who perceive very differently, and have an easier time predicting potential communication pitfalls.

glad you specified ai agents, otherwise all the intelligence plants here would be raising their hands, absolute chaos

Agent Psychosis: Are We Going Insane? What’s going on with the AI builder community right now?

I ran out of characters, here's a link to the blog post: lucumr.pocoo.org/2026/1/18/ag...

Just read @mitsuhiko.at 's blog on Agent Psychosis, loved the analogy to Pullman's daemons, and it got me thinking. The obv difference is that Pullman's inventions are a manifestation of the deeper self, whereas agents are not; this might be where some of the issues Armin describes originate from.

I mean, something something minds on the internet might not know how to directly ask for something something

world's a scary place when you can't communicate

Do you mean in a thread/convo where you're doing work with them? Hadn't heard of this as an idea.

Am I completely misunderstanding, or is this a modern (Armani) vs. traditional (you) approach?

padding on suits, moving towards the wearer providing shape as opposed to the garment. I may be misinterpreting, but I attribute a much more garment-based silhouette (via padding, when discussing suits and jackets) to you.

a q for @dieworkwear.bsky.social

(1/3) I've been digging more into fashion, largely due to your writing. Reading through a lot of what's been said about Armani after his death, I've been thinking that iiuc, your pov seems to run counter to a lot of what he did; people talk about how he pulled out

isn't it even worse than that? it looks like entities lower on the threat totem pole were also able to leverage First Wap. do we need to be heading further and either getting faraday cages or simply not traveling everywhere with a phone?

gotta keep em separated

No! There are no tears. No rain. Only LLM. LLM everywhere. Everything is LLM. We used to have tears and rain, but them the LLM consumed them, and now everything is LLM.

Does anyone have a suggestion on running a Mattermost instance without hassle?

I was originally aiming for Slack, but screw the AI rollout. That said, I don’t want to fuck around with proxies, ssl, etc. Yes, I can do it, but life’s too short for it.

The SaaS offers seem shady :/

Honest q - do we believe that they were actually respecting the privacy of those who selected the option up until now?

I would have assumed not, but am not familiar with details.
