I spoke to a dozen professional concept artists working in games about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs easier, even if it's just used in "very early ideation stages."

Zero said "yes." Most said it made their job harder.

I learnt a lot about concept artists. You should too!

A real swing and miss with this new Affinity announcement. Canva takes the biggest selling point for many artists using Affinity “We don’t have AI nonsense” and says “But what if we added A BUNCH of AI nonsense!”

Sure makes me glad I bought the old licensed version before they sold it off.

Playing around with some texture brushes and decided to sketch my favorite Bug Boyz, Zuckuss and 4-LOM.

(No-one shake my head canon of them as grouchy gruff dad and exuberant wiseass son.)

Thanks, I really appreciate that! I made a couple sets of these proxies because I was making demo decks for my friends with old cards but didn’t have enough warlords. I learned a lot studying the original art, this was a bushel of fun.

I use Indesign constantly for my day job and the Affinity analog feels VERY similar, it’s easy to transition over to for personal projects.

It took me a while to adjust to coming from Wacom drawing, but Procreate pretty quickly started to feel a lot more like organic sketchbook drawing and now it’s all I want to use.

The Affinity Suite is a great Adobe alternative, single charge, apps for iPad and computers.

There used to be some awesome ones! I remember a couple Archaia HARDBACKS with Mouse Guard comics and my first look at Scott Pilgrim was a one shot story that I don’t believe was ever collected, at least not back in the day. Genuine stuff to be excited to go get, not just reprints and long ads.
