Muriel Spark fans (or just fans of great writing) if you haven’t got your copy of @drjamesbailey.bsky.social ‘s latest book “Like a Cat Loves a Bird: The Nine Lives of Muriel Spark” you’re really missing out on a great book! I’ve been up at an obscene hour relishing the book!
So you wait almost two decades for a good biography of Muriel Spark and then two arrive at nearly the same time. Last year’s Electric Spark by Frances Wilson was excellent. This year’s Like a Cat Loves a Bird by @drjamesbailey.bsky.social is perhaps even better. 1/2
