I'm hoping that whatever is going on with you it will just go away! But just in case, get ahead of it. With back pain like this, you want access to treatment and physio immediately!

A pain specialist will be able to order and diagnose through more specialized imaging, like an MRI. This is the type of doctor that ultimately diagnosed my husband and got him on the path to walking again with physical therapy and other pain treatments.

Orthopedic surgeons frequently will just take a look at an x-ray, and if they see nothing push you off. Their solution is usually invasive surgery. But a lot of the times insurance makes you see them before you see a pain specialist, so you might have to jump through that hoop.

This is exactly how my husband's disability started 14 years ago. When you can, get yourself seen by your regular doctor, and get a referral to both an orthopedic surgeon and a pain specialist. If we had taken these steps sooner, we could have saved my husband the pain of years without a diagnosis!
