The draft zoning map AND the zone definitions are officially live for public comment.
This dictates what can be built and where for the next several decades. Urbanists, it’s time to do your homework:

TODAY 🚨 MoDOT’s open house for the Gravois Ave redesign is happening from 4–7 PM at the Five Star Senior Center (2832 Arsenal St). This project is in its early scoping phase—the absolute most critical time to demand a street built for people. Show up! 🧵👇
I just did the dumbest thing of my entire career to prove a much more serious point.
I tricked ChatGPT and Google, and made them tell other users I’m a competitive hot-dog-eating world champion
People are using this trick on a massive scale to make AI tell you lies. I’ll explain how I did it

The City is writing the 10-year plan for your neighborhood RIGHT NOW.
The Plan Area 7 workshop is this Wednesday (Jan 21) we need voices in the room advocating for traffic calming and protecting our historic density.
I've been trying to get this through for years now
Thank you to Josh Lawrence and Jaclyn Crow for creating the archive of RiverfrontTimesDatabase.com so I can revisit the Open Concept writeup that I've been chasing down for years. web.archive.org/web/20220704...
I would love to see a citybike service in STL. I think the e-bike option in particular bridge the gap for a lot of people who are curious about riding but won't dive in for their usual routes. My first ride in the city was a Lime bike years ago.

I yearn for the day when there's enough of these to pressure BJC into building on their handful of parking lots there.
Great journalism. Diego gives real answers to Tim's poignant questions. I'm somewhat sad that we're moving on so quickly but the vision of everyone seems sound.
this is such race-baiting horseshit out of the post dispatch - this is just a shitty breitbart article
There is a shirtless man in a cards hat directing traffic with a whistle in the middle of the Manchester/Kingshighway intersection since the light is out. He's doing a great job, honestly
Thanks to Bluemercury for renovating the space, I guess. I miss Coffee Cartel but if this is how it has to be at least it'll be something local again.
guys, car sprawl in climate disaster zones -- it is not gonna work out. i wish there were something i could say or do to soften the blow, truly.
your car was never worth this level of misery and destruction, but i think most people will only come to understand this through misery and destruction.
Thank you. My intuition was that this is both a larger trend because of birthrates and the rising cost of housing nationwide. I would understand if we look bad compared to other cities because most of our city limits are very urban, but that context is all missing from the original reaction.
Info for Gravois Safety Ride. Sunday July 13th 11:45AM - 2Pm Meet at McGurks Irish Pub 1200 Russell.
STLUrbanists and CP2 are hosting a Gravois Safety Ride to directly survey for critical safety issues. This is a chance to put eyes on the problems and strengthen our petition for immediate improvements. Your perspective is invaluable! Join us to advocate for safer streets.
Let's cap I-44 downtown, shrink the disasterous intersection in Layfayette square, and turn 44 running southwest into a boulevard while we're at it. It'd be a fraction of the cost of the state's I-70 expansion for dramatically more effect.
Isn't this a trend nationwide? What's a city that's increasing the population of families in their urban neighborhoods?
No new drive-thrus. If the Home Depot parking lot could be shared it would actually be a great location for office space, but what do I know.
Join St. Louis Urbanists and Last Stop Bike Shop for a 2-hour open clinic where you get to learn basic repairs on your own 🚲 ! Pizza (with vegan options) and soda will be provided. Limited to 15 attendees. Please RSVP at meetup.com/stlurbanists
The 4200 Arco lot behind the Gramophone is listed on Restoration St Louis's current projects list as future 95-unit apartments with "bluetooth exhaust fans." They've been paying $800 a year in taxes every year to sit on this perfectly placed 11-plot lot... Perfect case for creating a land value tax.
WATCH: @katmabu.bsky.social blows Jennings’ mind by saying “everyone deserves health care”
Reminder: this is how it is in every other developed nation, where the cruelty of the Republican Party has not killed universal health care on behalf of the insurance companies. #MedicareForAll

That's a shamefully low number. Where'd they post this? On their Instagram its just the "thoughts and prayers" post with no update
This is a pathetic number from an organization using our city as their brand
