It could be as simple as the genomes of the foods from Europe. But keep in mind - we import more food than we grow for ourselves in many cases (60% of fruit and 40% of veg). It isn't American to begin with. As for people with celiacs being able to eat wheat in italy, I do not believe that. Sorry.

I don't disbelieve you. The gut biome is important and we aren't going to all require the exact same things to keep them healthy. I don't survive without animal products in my diet, for example, despite vegans trying to tell me that if I do veganism right I will still get the nutrients I need. Nope.

Fresh as in produce, dairy, meat. Items that don't get added to except by necessity or aesthetics, like adding vitamins to milk or wax to apple peels. I do object to meat injected with flavoring and water, but even that isn't necessarily poisonous. Just makes it harder to control sodium really.

Yep. Many have, again usually out of greed or necessity. But that doesn't mean it's all suddenly poisonous. And again, adding more to labels from legal requirements will absolutely make it look like they're adding more stuff. It also gets confusing when they changed the ORDER ingredients must be in.

I want to make sure you know I'm not trying to argue that American diets suck. They do. But it is actually not about the quality of the food but more about pricing on food, availability of food, and corporate greed. Fresh food is still very safe here.

1 misconception is that US companies have started adding in junk to replace "real" food. Mostly formulas for processed foods have only changed out of necessity - plus they're required to put ALL ingredients on labels here. Preservatives aren't dangerous but they're very necessary for int'l commerce.

My sweet potatoes shock me regularly. They better give us food! 😂 And I may have too many tomatoes despite trying hard to not go overboard...

For the record though, the semantics DO matter. Jesus NEVER said to organize a religion named after him. He NEVER said "these are real Xtians." And trying to erase 2000 years of cruelty under the guise of "following" him as a "Christian" because you think it's not semantic is disingenuous.
