There's this tendency to write about people like e.g. connie converse (who yes, is a good musician) with this sort of historical view they were totally unknown despite having records pressed of their music. clearly there's hundreds of great musicians past and present who are left by the wayside

Thinking about how different strata of artists have poster times mean different things. If I put 19:30 on a poster I mean the music will start at 20:00 earliest, if a university puts 19:30 it's bang on 19:30 start, and you need to be there at like 19:00 to get a seat.
