Howie has done expenditures like this during transition years. It’s a new offense. My guess is Wicks is here as much to help folks learn the scheme as it is to catch passes.

Sacks and pressures are like catnip for most folk. He only had 2 sacks this past year. That’s my best guess.
I am looking at what the two resident capologists posted in the Eagles Film Room Discord. That’s whay I knew.
I have learned the hard way that even if I know how to decipher it, sometimes the cap info in those two main cap websites are actually wrong.
It is very similar. And I honestly think signing BOTH Hollywood and Wicks was unnecessary. But they are at least probably better than his CB2 choices last year….which is not a high bar.
Nice TY
I’d rather have a pick than Wicks also. It feel like Wicks will serve two roles is my guess
1) Help teach the new scheme
2) break glass and use if needed due to injury or rookie not ready
The 9 mil bonus next year is not guaranteed. So can maybe negotiate that down if want to keep him.
So that’s a little misleading. Seems like Wicks is getting an 5.8 mil bonus this year and 9 more mil bonus next year if kept again.
It looks like if we cut him after one year it is 9 mil total guaranteed we lose.
So...mildly random thought. I don't know what took me to the tape of Dontayvion Wicks today. But I am here watching it now. And his targets are almost exactly how I was envisioning Denzel Boston should be used between the 20s. And Boston would be significantly better at it than Wicks was.

Geez I don’t know if I’m the best of the hell-hole. Definitely not the lowest rung is my hope. 😀
Thanks man
Ok. If I have time will watch more (I prob won’t), but right now I have at WR Omar Cooper Jr over both KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston for pick 23.
He might just be ideally a one contract guy. But he looks like a good fit who can help right away.

It's kind of like when dumb people study certain words in the dictionary and use them to sound smart. It only hits the mark with other dumb people. And then it gets repeated.
I enjoyed every part of if. David’s “double move” tendency he highlighted from Howie took me back to some fond Eagles memories.
Go Birds!!
Man @davidneiszphl.bsky.social does his homework. We did this pre-draft pod almost a week ago. Due to technical difficulties we finally got it posted.

Philadelphia Eagles 2026 NFL Draft WWHD
What Would Howie Do
Four trades, seven selections, and banked a 2027 5th round pick.
Quite simply, Howie drafted for now and the next era of Eagles football.
Let me have it!

Howie likely gave AJ the green light to talk to the Pats months ago. He hasn’t guaranteed new money on AJ’s deal after the signing bonus due later this Summer (which another team may play.
One of my draft crushes, Kaleb Proctor in one of his few big school matchups. The talent jumps off the screen for me.

My brain went to Colston Loveland on accident when you said Marques Colston. But a lot of what I said, except for the blocking, still applies. I have no idea if Marques could block.
The smartest people in the industry have Stowers ranked 1 in the class. So you are not alone. I prob watched 5 games.
Well…there are degrees to all of it. Travis Kelce probably doesn’t do a ton of blocking I imagine.
To me, this is why he’s not really a TE prospect. Engram was basically a vertical slot the last time I watched him play.
One thing I will say in Stowers’ favor is that he has better hands and makes tougher catches away from his frame than Engram….just might be better at that Vs DBs than LBs.
I felt Stowers looked better because he was being used more to his strengths in the offense.
The D was definitely caught unprepared. I don’t remember every snap.
Stowers worked to me because he was a vertical stretch player away from the LOS. Moving chains underneath is not where I saw him shine.
To me in that Texas game he was basically playing vertical Slot/Z. They put him in a bunch of 2 and 3 receiver sets forcing zone coverage and he exploded up field. He made some tough grabs also, but not in traffic vs LBs…more out in space. There was some bad coverage that game also.
I might have watched the wrong sample of games. But I do not trust Stowers as a go-to guy. To me he is a good contributer as part of a 3 headed passing attack. I like how he threatens vertically. But 3rd+ 5 or big RZ situation….no. Colston was a more reliable receiver and blocker to me.
To be clear, I don’t think either of them stink. They will both be probably good contributors. If I’m taking a tight in that high, it better be one heck of a difference maker given our other needs.
I have too many question marks about both of their games for me to be comfortable, taking them in the top two rounds given all our other needs, and the depth of the tight end class.
I’ve watched 4 games. And he def doesn’t stink. But I’m honestly having a tough time evaluating his film. His route running is kind of meh. But he obviously has those traits that Eagles covet. And may develop.
I’d prob pass on him and draft a WR instead.
Do we really need blue checkmarks?
If you were kind of a click baiting dipshit before the blue checkmark, why does adding a blue checkmark change anything?
Max I probably has the most upside of the three, if he can fix his hands/technique.
They all have a chance to be good. Miller is the safest choice at the moment. Proctor may need to lose 20-30 lbs. Iheanachor needs major technical work.
At OT
1) Blake Miller
2) Max I
But I’d prob just wait on OT until next year…maybe draft Markel Bell late 3rd
