Trans ppl constitute “a group obsessed with its own victimhood.” I came across this phrase recently when I examined the language of contempt regularly deployed by bigoted publications and how it became mainstream.
Let’s take factual stock of this assertion🧵
The conservative rhetoric around protecting women makes more sense once you understand that victims exist purely as a hypothetical for them. Once a victim actually claims the label, they become a threat. This is also why they prefer dead women to living victims.
"A woman was found dead in a puddle of blood outside her workplace after Minnesota authorities say she was shot by a co-worker.
The co-worker, 36-year-old Michael Carpenter, faces a murder charge in the death of Nicole Hammond, 28, according to the St. Cloud Police Department."
Today, Alberta introduced Bill 9 and invoked the notwithstanding clause to shield three anti-trans laws from constitutional challenge. These laws deny gender-affirming care to youth, erase 2SLGBTQI identities from schools, and ban trans girls and women from sports.

if you are the public defense investigator who just subpoenaed Sam Altman on stage know that i love you and think you are a wonder upon this earth.
Don’t worry, Kim Petras has seen the video of mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani requesting her music from a DJ. The DJ didn’t have any, but Petras has plenty of love in her heart for the mayor-to-be.
Happy Clownoween 🩵🤡🩷
Did a test run of one of the costumes for this weekend, and then for carried away having fun with makeup
Zohran Mamdani caught lying that he understood Plato’s allegory of the cave, yet when asked to explain it, he seemed to instead explain Baudrillard’s theory of Simulacra and Simulation where reality has been replaced by symbols and signs, which seems similar to Plato’s theory but is not the same
I want to talk earnestly about what it's been like creating The Flytrap this year.
It has been the most exciting experience of my life. My other co-founders are all just amazing and talented people. Solo, none of us could make The Flytrap, but together it feels like we're the feminist Avengers.
"What I need you to understand is that nobody is letting them go quietly. The Feds' every movement is announced by a chorus of whistles, by a parade of cars honking in their wake, neighbors rushing outside to yell to film to witness these kidnappings that are unfolding in front of us."

“Sky News has confirmed for the first time that four anti-Hamas militias are all backed by Israel, and consider themselves part of a joint project to remove Hamas from power.”

They don’t even pretend to care. This is the only story. You can’t open the government if the House refuses to show up.
More of this. All the time. Every time they appear. Constantly. Fuck ICE.
I really think that we need to talk more about the fact that Republicans have basically quietly abolished the House of Representatives

This ep. I talk about how targeted violence is weaponized as emblematic of the oppositional political project and our obsession with viewing violence as the result of ideology and not downstream of personal experiences, material conditions, access to guns, self-annihilation, and social alienation.
Amusingly they played ‘I Kissed A Girl”which, early into the venue’s opening was played 5(!) times in 1 night I attended, along with several other tracks off that album. As a DJ I have never been more mad. I felt like I had paid cover to dance to a 5 disc changer on shuffle.
It was my first time in a gay bar since I started my transition, which felt like an important milestone. In a way it helped me feel less alone, but the not managing to talk to anyone amplified the sense of isolation I am grappling with.
Went dancing at the gay bar here in town. It was my first time back in the space in close to a decade but I was there for the opening, and I will be there for the closing next month (new location). Felt great to dance. Didn’t manage to share a word with anyone. Anxiety sucks.
the idea of a Project 2029 is a good one, because we will need a comprehensive blueprint for rebuilding all of the shit they've torn down
the people involved... well, it's genuinely difficult to think of a worse list of Democrats
