Sometimes, when I'm not writing or doom scrolling, I revert to a previous life and make art. This is "Elon Musk Moon Shot" assembled from found objects from the shores of Lake Michigan. (Photo by Trace Chiodo)

Palantir posts mini-manifesto denouncing inclusivity and ‘regressive’ cultures | TechCrunch Palantir's ideological bent has come under more scrutiny as it's worked with ICE and positioned itself as a defender of "the West."

Any candidate that takes money from Palantir should not receive your vote.

Co-founder Joe Lonsdale is pouring millions into a PAC to buy off Democrats, especially in California.

It's been so interesting to watch this unfold. Barnes & Noble and other big book chains shut indies down in the the 1990s (and on) and then Amazon came along and ate up all the book market share. Now people tired of big corporations are creating demand for more indies

Had a great time at the Slay the Lake Book Festival at the Final Girl Bar in Kenosha. Sold a bunch of books. Met a lot of very cool people.

If you’re a Hachette author you should be talking to your editors and teams about this. If they’re using AI to counter AI, it’s still AI. And it may also be giving your work to the machine, serving it up on a contractual platter.

Morning, Gabino! Thanks!

This bad boy has climbed to #40 in the Grief, Death, and Bereavement category over on the Amazon. Could it crack the top ten?

Bodies Of Work By Clay McLeod Chapman Review: Supernatural Revenge Horror Delivers Ghosts, Art, And Unease - The Ginger Nuts Of Horror Review Website Bodies of Work by Clay McLeod Chapman Review, a serial killer’s art, forgotten women’s ghosts, and slow-burn unease. 5 stars.

Clay McLeod Chapman’s ‘Bodies of Work’ is a supernatural revenge novella that turns the serial‑killer trope inside out. The ghosts don’t just haunt—they rewrite the story.”

I'm blown away by Sally Young's most recent piece.
Oh, and BTW, she did the wonderful painting for the cover for my novel White Flight.

Details of a Bouguereau painting in the Milwaukee show. Astonishing how he captures the weight of a hand clasping a shoulder, the finger poised over the surface of water, entwined fingers.
