Hooray, happy story day!!!

Friends, could you help me share this Kickstarter? It’s doing well but I need to extend its reach: www.kickstarter.com/projects/158...
Some part of me is disappointed that everyone has said “rest” and no one has said “the best thing to do when your head hurts from running straight into a wall is to keep slamming your head into the wall, ideally even harder than before” — but that’s probably because you are very wise and kind.
Feels a bit silly to post but 1. this is the best way I know how to find all the writers who live in my phone, and 2. this is one of those nights where I am staring at a screen thinking THIS SUCKS AND WILL NEVER PASS, and I figured probably at least one person could confirm “this can and will pass.”
I’m going through a period in which I cannot write fiction. I badly want to write, I theoretically have at least a little time to write, I… cannot write. When I try, it’s like I’ve forgotten, it’s awful. Writers who have had this experience, what did you do? Was there anything at all that helped?
new story day! This story about reproductive freedom, women + their networks of care, and dragons has been living in my head for a while now, and I’m so grateful to Austin and @strangehorizons.bsky.social for helping it come to fruition💗
Christine! 😭 This is ridiculously kind. Thank you so very much for reading and for these generous words!
Too late to update to “The Second Life and Sudden Death of the Starveling Saint of Anchorship X1343 (Or, How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Send the FF Team My 30-Word Titles)”?
If you're a 2SLGBTQIA+ writer: there are about 36 HOURS LEFT to submit your original fiction and poetry for Issue 2! Send us your work! 👀

Next time! Excited to share a TOC with you, really looking forward to your story!
15 is amazing! I aspire to 15!
🤬 THE TREES AND THE FROGS
🤭 and the sun on the water
In large letters, all caps: THE TREES AND THE FROGS. A line below, much smaller: and the Sun on the Water.
I did notice this (screenshot included for those who have not seen) and it brought me much joy, on this personal journey towards increasingly-and-absurdly long titles 😆 I now read the title in my head as THE TREES AND THE FROGS *whispering very softly* and the sun on the water.
Making steady progress towards my #1 goal as a writer: publishing a story with a title so long that it is functionally illegible.
There are few joys in this world like the joy of a student lingering after class because they are excited to share a short story recommendation.
Thanks to Otherside for a wonderful interview, and for supporting our magazine since we announced our relaunch! 💜 Anyone with a short story or poem in need of a home should submit to Otherside—they’re open for submissions! ✨
The Trees and the Frogs and the Sun on the Water, by M. R. Robinson in Tales & Feathers. Absolutely lovely story about poetry and magic and love. A balm.

Thank you, Tia! Most important part of any story, emoji selection 🙂↕️
Gentle reminder that I'll be posting the first section of my novella to my newsletter, set to reach your inbox sometime tomorrow morning
If that sounds like your kind of thing, please consider subscribing!

Extremely unbiased critics feel that you should read this story. (This is really just me bragging about how cute and wonderful my parents are.)
It’s a bit like how I can only write sci-fi about characters who are The Person In The Universe Who Knows The Least About Science! Thanks again for reading — I really appreciate it!
Ah, thank you! I wanted to write about a poet without having to actually WRITE poetry + inevitably make readers think “wow, this poet sucks,” so the only lines of actual poetry in the story are the ones that are meant to be awful! Felt a bit like trying to get away with something, glad it worked 😆
I hope you enjoy! 💚
Thank you so much for reading, Rick! This one means a lot to me and I’m really glad to hear it landed for you!
I've got a new story online now at @talesfeathers.bsky.social! After a couple of bleak and gruesome publications in a row from me, this one is the opposite, probably the sweetest thing I will ever write: a tender little sapphic love story set in a world where poetry is (literally) magic 🌳 🐸 ☀️ 🌊
This auto-populates at the beginning of all emails related to assignment deadlines.
I’m glad this website has been down all day so I can focus on the truly important things in my life such as One Thousand Emails and also One Thousand Additional Emails.
I hear the Bluesky devs told Claude to only break your feed if you’re gay
Good news, I tell him that he’s perfect a thousand times a day!
