You are doing well out there indie devs ๐ช๐ช
Do you like the dice rolling resource management of Catan and the Big Number Roguelike energy of Balatro? Check out my video on Feed the Scorchpot where the two meld wonderfully #sponsored #ad

Indie devs need to keep up with trends to stay ahead of the curve. I'm excited to announce DLSS 5 support for Feed the Scorchpot!
Before all the art assets are finished, I get to subject playtesters to my incredible art skillz!
A great weekend for @scorchpot.bsky.social! Was great to see so many people come to feed the dragon. Thank yโall!
Now onto the Kickstarter ๐ช
Slow and steady, from 10 โ 30 reviews โย and all 100% positive! ๐๐๐
Such a pretty board layout (and some crazy numbers). Love seeing play testers push our game to the limit!
Our game got featured by Olexa! youtu.be/s_thJUcBOkU?...
So few people actually pet the dragon... no wonder he's so fussy...
The oldest Czech game magazine (published since 1994), just featured us ๐ฅน
Dream come true, been reading this since I was a kid.
Quote of a lifetime: "Damn the developer, this game is an instant addiction, worse than Nutella."
Chief editor is preparing a full preview for the next issue ๐๐๐๐
Our demo has hit the 10 review mark! Been crossing our fingers to get that positive rating soon.
Great feedback coming through which will shape development a lot. Give the demo and try and send some feedback our way: store.steampowered.com/app/4338170/...

As it turns out, out of all the names I could have picked for the game, I went with one that was already taken... store.steampowered.com/news/app/396...
For me the answer was playtesting - just talking to players and being mindful about what they do and don't talk about
Working on my board game inspired roguelite, Iโve noticed how much gamefeel, sound, and subtle animations can change how the same mechanics are perceived. Even something as simple as the dragon commenting on the playerโs performance with snarky remarks made a big difference.
Game mechanics vs. atmosphere: which one actually carries a game?
Both matter, obviously. But as a solo dev, I keep circling back to this question. Solid mechanics are what make a game work, while atmosphere is what makes players care.
Getting our hands dirty creating some new art for our upcoming demo trailer. Multiple mouths and eyes to give some animation a go ๐
That's my daughter sitting on my lap with controller so I could take the picture :)
Iโve been adding a lot of QoL features to my game, and I wanted to implement full controller support early so it doesnโt feel like an afterthought. The game is already fully playable on Steam Deck, but I wanted to push it further and make the controls genuinely comfortable. #DragonFodder
Do you like dragons and art timelapses? #DragonFodder
You could call it like that. Base game mechanics were inspired by classic board games and gameplay principles by rogulites like Balatro
Thanks! I had lot of fun with sound design... all dragon sounds are actually just cat trills and purrs, just heavily slowed down and edited :)
GameMaker is worth a try - easy to learn, but still powerful enough for any 2D game idea
I'm using GameMaker and I really like it :)
Dragon Fodder is finally in a state Iโm happy with! The core gameplay now feels wonderfully smooth. Over the past month Iโve focused hard on the feel of the game โ all the clicks, thunks, subtle shakes, and little nudges โ and testers seem to really enjoy it. #screenshotsaturday
