Book on a desk named SuperShifts
Another book that I tried to read, but was way too painful… SuperShifts.
It is as if the authors were trying to trademark the dictionary. Every word in the book has a TM after it. Making it nearly impossible to read.
Listing the books from the photo:
On Intelligence
Vibe Coding
Change
Raising AI
Co-intelligence
The AI Playbook
AI for Defense and Intelligence

Stack of books on a desk. Titles are: On Intelligence, Vibe Coding, Change, Raising AI, Co-Intelligence, The AI Playbook, and AI for Defense and Intelligence
Books I have read recently 📚
I recommend all these as a way to see AI through other people’s eyes and understand what it is capable of… there are also some ideas about vibe coding and how the brain works.
Recent question:
As a technology leader do you feel the need to explain AI risk as well as AI ROI?
I’m in shock that one would be thought of without the other. Just like any new technology you bring into your environment you should always be considering and have answers for both.

Yeah, I could see that as a bit of a hurdle, but provided you have experienced developers on staff in the same language that you are coding in the inconvenience probably doesn’t outweigh the speed at which you are operating, right?
As a CIO or CAIO or CTO or Technology leader (running out of titles 🤨) are you in on Vibe Coding and increasing your team’s speed of development?
What risks are you accepting?
I’m in. I know we have walked into a new era and it will come down to the appropriate governance.

"AI will reshape work more than replace it. Most jobs aren't disappearing, but the tasks within them are changing—especially in white-collar and cognitive roles where generative AI is most effective." #edtech #ILoveEdTech #ImFutureReady #elearning #AIEdu
Another way to look at it— Let’s up the stakes - do you want that information being sold or available to advertisers in your chatbot?

Your personal information, personality, likes, dislikes, search history…. Is all saved in memory files in your AI chatbot. What happens when someone else gains access to those files? How do you maintain your privacy and should your LLM company be responsible for it?

Woooo! I’m on edge. I drank too much coffee…
@emollick.bsky.social is right about discrete capability jumps in Artificial Intelligence. Here's the government version: agencies that spent 3 years debating Gen AI policy are about to be hit by agentic AI before the first policy is signed. Leadership that moves slowly doesn't get to wait.
This maps to what I'm seeing in government. We're not ready for discrete capability jumps — agencies that struggled to adopt Gen AI are now facing agentic systems. The gap between capability curve and institutional readiness is widening fast.
Horrible
Which camp are you?
only 10% of Americans said they were more excited than concerned about the increased use of AI in daily life. Meanwhile, 56% of AI experts said they believed AI would have a positive impact on the U.S. over the next 20 years.

Ensuring that the staff understand and trust the tool so that they do not question it and end up redoing all the work that has already been accomplished by the tool.
The Hidden Risks of Scaling Open AI Models Across Enterprises. I have a small contribution to this article as well about the staff's need to ensure trust the veracity of the AI's output before deploying what could cause duplicative work between the AI/Agent and the Human.
