Ah, I see your holding steadfast to the 'we hold all the cards ideaology'. The UK already has a defence partnership with the EU. The EU doesn't require the UK to be an EU member for defence co-operation.

Whilst it's likely the UK would be a net contributor to the EU if it was a member today...
