Our trial direct service from the climbing centre & Ratho village will also start in the next few months! 🚌

You only have to book in advance if you want to board at an intermediate stop. It also guarantees a seat. Check online and it will advise which stops have to be pre booked. Drivers will only stop at those stops if tickets are booked. Tickets can be easily, changed, refunded at short notice too.

😒 disappointing on both counts! We've seen that without enforcement then bus priority becomes less effective.
And of course the Ratho/Rural West Edinburgh issues will continue to be not important enough to CEC. Second class citizens/businesses in EH28 despite paying Edinburgh rates/Council Tax πŸ˜”

One of a few articles covering this petition tomorrow. This one highlights the ease of travelling direct from Edinburgh to Belhaven Bay, Dunbar compared with the difficult route to Ratho, EDINBURGH.

It might seem a small win but having these trackers installed in Ratho Village will make a huge difference to many! All we need now is a direct bus into Edinburgh. Please work together @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social @lothianbuses.bsky.social @edinburghbug.bsky.social @edinburghleisure.bsky.social

Reading lots of news about anti social behaviour on buses. @transformscot.bsky.social developed & delivered the #lovemybus youth programme in 2022/23 to over 10k young people in 22 local authorities. With more investment this could be continued. The ASB section might have included throwing balls 😏

Just having a look at the transport aspects of the #ScottishBudget document now.

As ever, the thing is difficult to scrutinise because of the general opacity of the information presented.

@edinburghbug.bsky.social Over 500 signatures so far, at what point does a petition get reviewed?

I'm trying to find the petitioner but we have got behind it regardless locally.

no reasonable attempts have been made by the council (who operate the tendered services to the nearby village) to support active travel & accessibility to either facility. The continuing saga of rural west Edinburgh being neglected and the saturation of more cars is inevitable 😒

The new Lostshore surf resort next to Edinburgh Leisure's International Climbing Arena (EICA) in Ratho, Edinburgh. Both impressive facilities but neither supported by a local bus 🚌. Despite attempts from both and the local community to work with operators and the council....

It was great visiting a snowy Aberdeen and hearing how income generated from city centre bus gates has been reinvested into tendered night buses for the festive period. So money generated from bus infrastructure going back into tendered bus services, wow! Some LA's could learn from this πŸ€”
